I kept walking on new paths.  Some new memories were added on every path.  Every time some old memories faded away.  The details got mixed with the dates in the past.  Some people who had ever met, when? I don't remember now this properly.  Some faces were remembered and context were forgotten about them.  Some context were remembered and faces were forgotten. Some people I don't remember at all. Neither faces, nor words.  Some memories got entangled in the jungle of confusion. The meeting of some seemed like a solution to many problems.  I joined some memories and became a part of them.  Some memories dissolved in me and became a part of me. The same holds true for movies. When an artist lives a character in a movie, how well he lives that character depends on his ability.

The story and direction also play a prominent role.  All in all, when all these features are coordinated in a balanced way in a right equation in a movie, then that movie has a special effect on our heart and mind.  This is the reason that some people, some movies, some places, some events, and some stories we remember for many years and some we forget immediately.  Do we consciously ignore some things and pay too much attention to others?  I believe that only one story or movie should always be with us, it is not possible. It has to be many that keep changing dynamically depending on mood, circumstances, etc. Our memories are like running water.  Many movies secretly make a deep impact on our character and we are not aware.

According to a research, after watching a movie, we forget about 40 percent in just three hours.  And by the coming nine months, we are unable to remember more than 20 percent.  This percentage can be higher if we watch the same movie again after some time.  What are your thoughts about these ideas and views?

Life In A Year (2020) is a Love story between two teenagers. But it's a well matured love story. It's a story of a clash among a father's plans about the future of his son, a mother's love, a 17-year boy's discovery of what he actually wants in life and a young girl who's about to die in a year. A must-watch emotional and inspirational drama well directed and equally well acted. Cara Delevingne as Isabella has played the role of dying girlfriend. Daryn, played by Jaden Smith also fits in his role well. Daryn is 17-year-old. His father is quite strict about his future and this forces him a very disciplined life.

The moment Isabella comes into Daryn's life, things start changing in his life in a big way. His perspectives on his future, studies, and life change altogether in a very different manner. It is Isabella who teaches Daryn to look at life in a broader spectrum. Initially Isabella tries to avoid Daryn as she knew about her condition. But gradually she had to accept Daryn's proposal. The crux of the story is here. The moment Daryn finds out that Isabella is dying in a year or so, he decides to give her a complete life in her last year. That makes the story of Life In A Year quite touching and emotional.

Just watch the film and enjoy without being too judgmental. I was really wondering why this fanatic film has just an average of 5.8 rating on IMDB. My rating was 8 for this.

Gulabo Sitabo #MovieReview #BlogchatterA2z #bollywood

Gulabo Sitabo was released in June 2020. Directed by Shoojit Sarcar and produced by Ronnie Lahiri & Sheel Kumar, this film has three very versatile actors - Amitabh Bachchan, Ayushmann Khurrana, and Farrukh Jaffar. The roles of Chunnan "Mirza" Nawab, Fatima Begum, and Baankey Rastogi have been played excellently by Amitabh Bachchan, Farrukh Jaffar, and Ayushmann Khurrana respectively. Other artists also played their respective roles quite impressively. The story of Gulabo Sitabo is written by Juhi Chaturvedi. Music is by Shantanu Moitra and lyrics by Shantanu Moitra, Abhishek Arora, and Anuj Garg. I would say it's a great team work altogether by all the departments.

The story of Gulabo Sitabo goes like this. Chunnan 'Mirza' Nawab (Amitabh Bachchan), popularly known as Mirza, is a very cunning, sharp minded, active, and greedy old man who keeps stealing small items from the Haveli to get some money in lieu of that from the market. His wife, Fatima Begum (Farrukh Jaffar), popularly known as Begum, is 17 years older than Mirza. Begum owns a big old Haveli in Lucknow. The Haveli is in a very poor condition. Besides Mirza and Begum living in the Haveli are various other tenants to whom their respective rooms have been leased out to them. Most of them are not even paying the rent for various reasons. Begum wants to sell this property and puts Mirza on the job to find some appropriate buyer. Mirza is desperately waiting for Begum to die so that he becomes the owner of the property. Baankey Rastogi (Ayushmann Khurrana) lives in the same Haveli in one of the rooms with him three sisters and mother.

There is a consistent tussle between Mirza and Baankey because Baankey never pays the rent of his room and keeps giving convincing reasons for that. Mirza wants Baankey to leave the room and move somewhere else but all in vain.

Overall, the story of Gulabo Sitabo is fast and engaging. It's a good entertaining, lightweight, comedy film performed very well by all the artists. A must-watch if you haven't so far.

The Bollywood movie Panga lacks a number of basic fundamentals of any movie. It lacks rhythm and fuel. The biggest flaw is characterisation of the main character Kangana Ranaut. Weak characterization further weakens with the poor acting by Kangana Ranaut playing the role of Jaya Nigam. The theme of the story is very strong. There is no doubt about that. It could not touch even the double of its budget at the box office. It's a low budget movie. Had it overcome some basic flaws, the revenues could have touched 5 times of its budget without any doubt. Despite having a strong story line, the key role, in my opinion, makes it a weak presentation. Though Kangana Ranaut is well supported by the other actors very well. But she herself could not do complete justice to the role given to her. She was not at her best this time.

The story of Panga movie goes like this. Jaya Nigam is an ex-star in the world of Indian National Kabaddi. She was one of the most successful Indian Kabaddi captain with a great success in National and international arena during her tenure as a captain. Because of her family constraints after her marriage, she had no other option but to compromise with her rising career that too when she was at the top of it. This, somehow remains as a point of regret in her mind and heart. And then after so many years of her marriage, that hidden desire of continuing her career gets ignited by her son and well supported by her husband. Because of a big gap she is seen in a dilemma initially whether she would be able to get back on the track with the same zeal, momentum, and energy.

Jassie Gill has done a fantastic job as Jaya's husband, Prashant Shirvastava. Richa Chadha, as usual has proved her maturity with her polished acting. Yagya Bhasin as Aditya Nigam, Jaya's son, has also done a marvelous job. Neena Gupta, as Jaya's mother, fits the bill perfectly. It's an overstretched movie just because Kangana Ranaut. She could have done a lot better. It's good that all the other actors played their respective roles magnificently. Otherwise, Panga movie would not have been able to touch even its budget figure at the box office. The story gets out of track at many points. The end could have been a lot better. It's a waste of a superb story because of a poor acting by Kangana Ranaut and a weak direction Ashwiny Iyer.

Irrfan Khan Delivers Powerful and Best Performance in #Madaari

Madaari. Irrfan Khan's followers and fans admire his iconic style in the roles he performs. His performance makes it memorable. He has that power and charisma of impacting his movies in a big way, single-handedly. Madaari is a must-watch for many reasons. First and foremost is Irrfan Khan. Second, it is meant for family audiences. Third, it has a powerful story conveying a strong message against the system. Irrfan Khan's acting is a big compliment for #Madaari. The credit must go to Nishikant Kamat for a refined direction.

Hardly 5% of the movies released come with a strong message for masses. The movies that are meant only for entertainment are merely for momentary pleasure. But the movies with a strong storyline have a larger impact. The message conveyed stays at the back of the mind for a longer duration. Though it all depends on many factors to make the message powerful. A good piece of acting, good direction, a well-crafted script, and dialogue delivery are few of the prominent factors. Madaari has all these factors intact. This is probably Irrfan's best performance.

Irrfan Khan is an actor of substance

Most of the movies these days focus more on revenue generation. In anticipation of more box office collections, producers don't mind adding extra masala in the movie. This extra topping could be in terms of vulgarity, cheap comedy, or extreme action to an extent of brutality. Such movies become difficult to watch with the family. Madaari is one such movie that is clean in all these aspects. You must watch this movie with the family. I have observed Irrfan khan is a person with high values. He always prefers to pick a story of his own choice rather than saying 'Yes' to every and any kind of role. All his movies carry great content, strong message, powerful story, and on top of that, he never compromises in delivering the best of performance. Irrfan Khan is rated as one of the most refined actors in the film industry. This is because of his quality and uncompromising delivery.

Madaari is about a man Nirmal suffering a big disaster and then fighting back with all his energy and vigor to question the system in place. Irrfan Khan would be remembered for his best performance in the movie.

The poor storyline of Fan movie impacts the good direction

Fan movie is a story of two guys - Aryan Khanna - a superstar and top actor in Bollywood movies, and Gaurav Chandna - a small time local resident of some DDA colony in Delhi and a super fan of the former. The latter is so lunatic in his obsession towards Aryan Khanna that he could go to any extent of madness and psychic extremes. The movie was released on April 15 and probably is done with the theaters. Now a days movies come and go in a short period of one week to three weeks and in between there are some media news about box office collections that sometimes appear fake and extrapolated.

Fan movie is directed by Maneesh Sharma. Direction is fine but a lot depends on the story. Whatever best you do with direction, if story is not of that level, the movie and audience have to suffer.

Editor is Namrata Rao and the movie is produced under the banner of YRF - Yash Raj Films. Music directors are Andrea Guerra, and duo Vishal-Shekar. But where is the music, you will keep wondering after finishing the movie. What these three guys did on music front is suspense as on screen there were no songs or music.

Though Gaurav Chandna is a dumb, not too educated kind of character belonging to a low-middle class family but he has been shown as a super intelligent guy stalking a Bollywood super star of Aryan Khanna with so much intelligence that is unbelievable. If the guy was so intelligent, he would have built his career for the sake of his old parents. And if he was so obsessive he would have already fallen into troubles. The guy has a passport and reaches London without his parents knowing about his whereabouts. There are many such gaps in the story.

A solo spot in the movie that impressed me and created some unique moments was -
When Senior goes to meet junior in the police station to advice him to leave Mumbai and stop doing crazy things in life. The moment when he looks at him and tells him why should he spare even five minutes of his life for him, was excellent.

Rest, the complete movie was unimpressive with typical acting by Shah Rukh Khan and there was nothing so creative in acting and delivery. The movie can be seen with family as there is no obscene stuff throughout. If you are okay with some fight, some beautiful scenic views, and SRK, and feel this is just you would expect in a movie spending Rs 300, then go for it. Otherwise, there is nothing so special to highlight, or like, in the movie.

The theme of Fan is powerful but the way it has been molded in a story is totally indigestible. Even the kids will raise questions about the illogical sequences in the story and its presentation.

I would say Fan movie is a waste of talent in three sections - direction, acting, and music just because of poor storyline. I would rate it 2 on a scale of 5. Watch a better movie in case you plan to watch on theater. Otherwise you will feel like me after the movie - waste of time and money.

Neerja movie is based on the braveheart Neerja Bhanot who sacrificed her life saving three innocent children. The movie throws pointers on many prominent social ailments and forces you to think and introspect. The story is about the head air hostess working with PanAm airlines. It was her first flight as a head air hostess for the flight from Mumbai to New York via Karachi. A terrorist group plans to hijack this flight at Karachi and take it to Cyprus. They planned to take it for ransom and negotiate for the release of their members against the life of travelers. When everyone loses nerves there is one person that keeps her nerves intact and starts thinking how best she can serve as per the demand of her duty. This not only fails the terrorist's plan but also saves the life of majority of travellers. The three nations rewarded her posthumously and the whole world admitted her extraordinary bravery.

Neerja movie is larger than life. It is beyond a nation, community, caste, color or language. It is a must watch for everyone belonging to any country. This movie will change your views on humanity, self-respect, responsibility, and selflessness. If I had to describe this movie in four words I would have used these four words used in previous line. The sacrifice has not gone waste. Even the worst politics had to honour her sacrifice. Such movies never get old. This kind of movies keeps alive generation after generation to keep alive the light of humanity and caring. Shabana Azmi and Sonam Kapoor have truly played their roles in a strong manner. The story evolves and takes you into its grip in first 15 minutes. After that, you stay hooked to it. Shekhar Ravjiani impresses with his powerful acting in a small role he is given to play. Sonam Kapoor has sealed the mouth of critics forever who had any doubts on her acting skills.

I would rate this movie 4.5 out of five in terms of excellent story, presentation, direction, casting, acting and screenplay. It is hard to create a heart throbbing story out of a news item and present it in a manner that stirs your soul and takes you for a deep dive into an ocean of emotions. Neerja movie is a must watch for everyone.

Fitoor Movie Review Great Expectations Lost - Lack Of Poise And Pulse

Fitoor movie is based on famous Great Expectations by Charles Dickens.

The customized twists in Fitoor didn’t work well lacking poise and pulse.

Fitoor in my opinion should have a better protagonists and remarkable twists.

Fitoor movie ahs been produced by Abhishek Kapoor and Siddharth Roy Kapur. Story has been customized from the famous novel Great Expectations by Charles Dickens. Story writers are Abhishek Kapoor and Supratik Sen. The Bollywood movie has been directed by Abhishek Kapoor. The director has been acknowledged earlier for certain awards for his talented directorial in Koi P0 Che and Rock On. I don’t say efforts have not been put. But then a lot better could have been done. I didn’t like the protagonists. If lead cast and twists had been handled in a better way, it could have been a superhit. In fact, I would say even with the same story would have been done by taking a different set of protagonists. It is a waste of time and money, I would say. Can’t give more than 2 out of 5 to it.

If you remember a novel Airport by Arthur Hailey, it was a bestseller. The movie Airport directed by George Seaton in 1970. The movie was crafted so well and delivered in such a significant manner that it surpassed the gravity of the novel. In the same context if you remember another movie Other Side Of The Midnight (1977) based on the novel written by Sidney Sheldon was written so beautifully that director Charles Jarrot direction could not do 100% justice to the well crafted novel. Do read both the novels and watch both the movies to understand the difference. And then try correlating it with Fitoor Bollywood movie and novel Great Expectation by Charles Dickens. There is a british movie based on Great Expectations with the same name. The movie didn’t do well and was as convincing as the novel.

The story of Fitoor goes like this. There is a poor child Noor (Aditya Roy Kapur as grown up Noor) who grows up as an artist. He starts playing with brushes to explore his natural talent. The boy meets a charming girl Firdaus Jaan Naqvi (Katrina Kaif as grown up Firdaus) and it is a one sided love at first sight from Noor’s side. Firdaus is quite dominating while Noor is a calm character. The childhood shooting is in the beautiful valleys of Kashmir. At least, scenic views is a good relief to compensate. Tabu has played the role of a opium addicted lady, Begum Hazrat. She turned so as a result of failed love. Begum sends Firdaus to London for education. Both, Noor and Firdaus grow up and Noor is not able to forget his childhood love Firdaus. He decides to try his luck and shifts to Delhi from Kashmir. The life takes lot of turns and twists. Firdaus and Noor meet in Delhi in a party and the childhood love lures up once again. A lot of interesting sequences thereafter. Someone had special plans for the two.

Tabu and Aditya Roy Kapur impress at certain places. Oveall, Fitoor does not fall in a must watch love story. Katrina Kaif fails to impress. Don’t go with great expecations from this Bollywood movie. The music is not too bad. Out of 7 songs, 2-3 might fall in your likeable lyrics list.

On the other hand Hrithik is at the verge of completing his movie Mohenjo Daro being directed by Ashutosh Gowarikar. The shooting of Kaabil will be starting with immediate effect. The timelines are kept tight for this movie. It is planned to be completed with a span of three months. It means it will be on a superfast track thus demanding a lot of time and dedication from its entire team. Hrithik and Yami are definitely heading for the toughest period of their life. We all know that Hrithik never compromises with his acting from any angle. And when it is being produced by none other than his father Rakesh Roshan, it has to be a fully dedicated job. Even otherwise he never compromises with the quality and delivery irrespective of who are the director and producer.

Since the announcement for beginning of shooting is made in the morning, there are a lot of other details being awaited. The shooting locations are yet to be disclosed. Reportedly initial shooting will be done in Mumbai on the sets and then the team will move for outside locations. There is a lot of excitement about its music and story. The release date though is yet to be announced but most probably Kaabil will get released in around Diwali this year. Everyone is eager to watch fantastico Hrithik Roshan in action. There is reportedly a good amount of romance in the movie with Yami Gautam.

Just now read that the movie Kya Kool Hain Hum 3 has been banned in Pakistan. What a fantastic move. I love anyone who loves and caring for youth. I love you Pakistan. Why I love Pakistan is because it has clearly stated that the movie Kya Kool Hain Hum 3 is not fit to be watched by youth. The care and love for youth are astounding within a single statement. Any country banning this stupid, meaningless and weird movie is more than lovable. I will call it a peppy move. A peppy care for the youth of the country.

The youth of Pakistan must be thankful to the country for banning the movie Kya Kool Hain Hum 3. Although there are ways to get the movie through many illegal routes. Those who would still want to watch it will definitely find out that route by any means. Banning the movie in a country does not stop the youth to watch the related stuff available on Youtube and other online media. But the message conveyed is more than enough to show the dignity and wisdom. It is good to look at the good things happening around in the world. Even if we don’t care for our youth in India and try to be liberal, there is someone else caring for the youth of their country. That is why I love you Pakistan for this particular move. A good thing remains good and must be appreciated openly. And this is obviously a peppy move by Pakistan.

Kya Kool Hain Hum 3 stars c-grade actors (I don’t know if it is good to call them actors). The cast includes Tusshar Kapoor and Aftab Shivdasani. Even the female actors are unknown faces like Mandana Karimi, Gizele Thakral, and Claudia Ciesla. This is a family production. Hence, it doesn’t matter if there is no story or theme. The movie is a sex comedy. We are trying to be liberal on the pattern of the western countries but at what cost? Are we conveying the message to our youth to go ahead and enjoy it? Are we culturally open enough to watch this particular movie at home or at a theater with family? How many of us could dare it, I am not sure?

In the name of sex comedy, there is nothing in this movie but exploration that happens in a premature condition. So can we call it a premature stuff for premature people. Definitely, there would be a section of our society that would go and watch it in a cinema hall. I am not sure if the movie will be able to collect a considerable amount at the box office. Sensible youth would definitely ignore it and let it go. It is a lot more sensible and meaningful in life than this. Even if it is in the name of comedy, there are better movies and other stuff to watch and enjoy. Once again I love you Pakistan for banning Kya Kool Hain Hum boldly and openly. It shows your love and care for the youth in the country.
