Biggest Challenges People Face Today #BlogchatterBlogHop #Opinion

What might be the biggest challenges people face today?  I think we are living in a very confused environment.  Maybe we are doing this intentionally.  The biggest advantage of creating and living in a confused environment is that we can save ourselves from our real and bigger challenges by doing so.  Will the cat leave the pigeon if the pigeon closes its eyes?  Will we avoid the biggest challenges we face today by just ignoring them and disowning them?  If we can't accept our own challenges and fight them, who else will?

Biggest Challenges People Face Today #BlogchatterBlogHop #Opinion

According to me, our biggest challenges today are the following -

1. Identifying the right path: We are completely ignorant of our right direction in personal, professional, practical, mental, and spiritual life.  We don't even know what is right and what is wrong.  In everything we find the shortest way or shortcuts.  Without knowing whether this is right or not.  Once we start on this path, then we also waste our remaining knowledge.

2. Narrow lifestyle: The very definition of houses has changed.  Collective and organized families have become a thing of the past.  There is nothing left to give and take advise. Concept of approaching right persons in the family at right time to get best possible solution is gone.   Everyone is living a fake life.  No one is happy talking to someone in real life.  Social media has just become real life.  No correspondence.  No happy atmosphere.  Everyone just keeps looking for new ways to escape from everything.  Nobody shares happiness with anyone. On the other hand, participating in one's happiness has either become a burden, or has become a mere formality.

3. I am always right: Today everyone thinks that he is absolutely right in everything.  No introspection, no brainstorming.  It has just become a matter of too much of self obsession.  Our is it some kind of fear that makes us blind.

4. Spirituality Endangered: Spirituality has completely disappeared from our life.  We are not even looking that way.  And when you do not see in that direction, do not try to know about it, then how will this power be realized?

5. Boring Lifestyle: Exercise, feeling, and meditation have disappeared from our lifestyle.  When we do not do anything in life that gives us spiritual happiness, then it is natural to develop a boring lifestyle. If the merits are reduced then the percentage of demerits will automatically come up.

How will we be able to move towards a spiritual, physical, and mindful lifestyle unless we address these problems?  Unless we find ways to acquire real physical and mental strength, we will not even be able to recognize the real challenges of our life.  Because in the absence of strength, the only way is to avoid them, and that is what we are doing.  Fake life, fake happiness, fake intoxication.

One Hobby I Wish I Could Revive #WriteAPageADay #pebbleinwaterswrites @blogchatter

If a hobby I wish I could revive, what would it be and why would I want to revive it?  I believe, hobbies can change with age and maturity.  I am talking of both age and maturity together because even with increasing age, if childish behavior remains the same and there is no change in it, then hobbies often remain the same.  Yes, if there is an increase in seriousness with age, then maturity in thinking and understanding also gets enhanced.  Then, it is imperative to change hobbies with that change.

One Hobby I Wish I Could Revive #WriteAPageADay #pebbleinwaterswrites @blogchatter

There is another aspect to this as well.  Some people are older than age, some equal to age, and some less than age.  Now those who fall in the first category, whose maturity is more than their age, then they are likely to have very serious and matured hobbies even at a very young age.  For example, many children of the same age may be playing, and some children of the same age may be doing something different instead of playing.  For example, these other category of children would be reading literature, understanding nature, trying something new, or spending time with children older than them.

I was fond of reading comics in childhood, but a bit later, within a few years, I became fond of reading literary books by the time I reached higher school.  During my school days I had read books of legends of literature like Ramdhari Singh Dinkar, Mohan Rakesh, Amrita Pritam, Agyeya, Saadat Hasan Manto, Rabindranath Thakur, Khushwant Singh, Khalil Gibran, Leo Tolstoy, Harivansh Rai Bachchan, Mirza Ghalib, Sahir Ludhianvi, Faiz Ahmed Faiz, Ila Chandra Joshi , and read the books by many other similar authors.  Some of those books I read more than once.

I remember that during my school days a monthly magazine of literature was started called Kathadesh.  I used to take it every month.  It used to be a thin magazine, but it contained a rich dose of literary writing.  With age, the companionship of books also started increasing.  But at the same time, the amount of time started decreasing in them because I had to spend time in other tasks and deeds.  And because of this after some time it happened that the hobby in books started decreasing.  The situation has gone such that in spite of the time, the hand does not move towards the books and the attention does not prompts to spend some time reading a book.

If I am able to revive this old hobby of mine like it used to be full of passion, then the enjoyment of life will move to another level.

Life: 24 Essays by Tomichan Matheikal #BlogchatterEbook #bookchatter #bookreview #books

Life: 24 Essays by Tomichan Matheikal is a collection of 24 essays focusing on meaning and purpose of life. The first essay 'Absurdity' is quite intriguing and it literally drove me thinking about various aspects of life like - How much of it do I really live? Do I really decide how shall I live my life or just let it go as it is? Do I make my lifestyle to make me more comfortable or to make it more active and meaningful? How much do we really challenge ourselves? The most important question is - Do I live my life to its fullest? "Your soul is your property and your destiny. It is your burden and your joy. That is the ultimate absurdity of life. Face that absurdity. Take over its challenges. Work with those challenges with unconditional integrity. In spite of your frailty which is humanity’s frailty itself."

Life: 24 Essays by Tomichan Matheikal #BlogchatterEbook #bookchatter #bookreview #books

Each essay of Life: 24 Essays by Tomichan Matheikal is a gem. So, basically, the book presents 24 precious gems to me for enriching my life, lifestyle, and soul. According to the second essay 'Rebel', anybody who loves life is a rebel. I was wondering after reading this line and going further to read the rest that does it really holds good? But when I started reading further, it became crystal clear. An excellent aspect of this book is that it can be read any number of times. Each essay is an independent entity. Everytime I read the same essay again, it gives me a different perspective and a new approach to think about life. The book talks about 'me' and 'my life'. It intends to bring a change within and once that happens, the entire world will become more colourful and meaningful. That's it's beauty.

Life: 24 Essays by Tomichan Matheikal is a thinker's paradise on one hand and a practical world for doers. Each essay is thought provoking and at the same time gives ample scope to find out action points to improve life. I find this book quite motivation, inspiring, and connecting to spirituality. It brings in positivity in thoughts and actions. In fact, it keeps giving a number of checkpoints to see if I am responsible for the pains and shortfalls in life or it is because of somebody else. A good amount of energy and research work has gone in this book. Each essay contains some quotes from well known philosophers and researchers to bring in more relevance to the respective topic. The author of this book tried to touch life through all important angles viz philosophy, literature, and religion. It's an open ended book.

Life: 24 Essays by Tomichan Matheikal #BlogchatterEbook #bookchatter #bookreview #books

Why I call Life: 24 Essays by Tomichan Matheikal an open ended book is because it doesn't impose anything on the reader. Still, it gives a lot of points for introspection. Each essay gives different perspective to look at life in a very positive manner. It's a kind of book that is good to be a part of every personal or public library.

#EmotionalIntelligence #EmotionalBalance #BetterRelationships #HealthyMind #Mindfulness and #MentalHealth

With changing lifestyles, increasing complexities, and excelling online interactions, the importance of emotional intelligence has become a prime in everyone's life. Few recent incidents are clear examples of this. An IAS aspirant somewhere from South India, living in Delhi decided to finish his life for a very simple reason with no fault of his. The reason was that being not very conversant with Delhi, he reached wrong center for his Prelim exams. When told that the actual center where he has to appear for the exam is somewhere in the close vicinity, he rushed towards it. Just because he was a few minutes late to report at his actual center, he was denied to sit for the exam. Disheartened, he came back to his room and hanged from the ceiling fan thus finishing his life. Just in a spur of moment he took a wrong decision.

It was merely a question of one more year. Was it family pressure? Was it peer pressure? Or it was some other reason? Whatever it was, he lost his emotional balance at that moment of time. Another example is of an army officer killing another army officer's wife because he fell in love with her, and she disapproved it being married already. Is it something related only to the newer generation? The answer is no. Even the aged people lack emotional balance and take momentarily wrong decisions that impart big impacts on their life. Daniel Goleman, since 1995 has been conducting various research works on Emotional Intelligence. He has been speaking globally about the importance of it. As a matter of fact, in today's environment, Emotional Intelligence (EI) is something that matters more than Intelligence Quotient (IQ). The basic fact is we have moved away from self-awareness.

The deeper is the self-awareness, the more we get self-managed. That automatically builds emotional balance. Subsequently, it leads to a better build and maintain relationships. That is perhaps, everybody needs in life.

#ShareTheLoad - When Swamiji Enlightened With The Reason Behind

I was meeting Swami after a long time. This time the reason was #ShareTheLoad. I wanted to understand the crux of the reason behind a cruel reality of our society where Women have taken the route to equality for the external world of a family by stepping out to work and share the financial load of a family. But her label of being a homemaker still remains intact. A woman despite taking care of multiple roles of a mother, sister or a wife is still being held solely responsible for household chores as her prime responsibility. The age old phenomenon of 'division of labor' is still unaltered and is deep rooted in our home, society, and nation expecting the women of the house to own all responsibilities within the four walls of the home.

#ShareTheLoad - When Swamiji Enlightened With The Reason Behind
Photo credit: Saarblitz via Visual hunt / CC BY-NC-SA

Right since so many years, a child is taught that a girl is the one performing domestic chores like cleaning, washing, cooking, etc. while a boy in the family has to yearn for a profession to be the primary earning member of the family and take the onus of earning the bread and butter for the entire family. The scenario has changed in one direction when girls are prepared for a professional life and women have taken an equal responsibility of an equal or maybe, a higher earner in the family. But what about the other side of the wall? Why every household chore is still the responsibility of the woman of the house even if she has to sacrifice her life, profession, education, stamina, and energy manifold to just follow it blindly without raising her voice against it?

Swami is my good old childhood friend turned a multinational c-suite executive as per the last information we met a decade back. After that I lost his track or probably he wanted to go in an isolation state to take a final call of his life. During our early education days I had a big impact of Swami's ideologies. He was quite serious and matured during those days. He was beyond his age. He, in fact, was my mentor, inspite of being my classmate. He never differentiated between genders. When I used to visit his house, he would be helping his mother in her household chores without a hitch. He would go to kitchen to prepare tea, would not hesitate to wash clothes, to clean house and so on. These small gestures turned me too into similar kind of guy and I never felt insulted doing all such things at home. Neither did my male chauvinism would get hurt.

After a decade when I got Swami's call, I could not dare to ignore it. He was in India for a decade now after he resigned from his MNC well flourishing job and decided to take a different route. I got surprised to know that for last 10 years he is on a mission to educate youth of the country with a cause. And the cause is to eradicate gender bias in everybody's life. He has been successful in this. He has become a wanderer. He visits remote villages and towns to educate people about this. Educating them to break the invisible walls between a man and a woman.

“You know the reason behind these walls is nothing but our mindset that sets the barriers. Once you are able to break that jinx, everything seems easy and attainable.” He said when we met recently. I left my job because everyday I used to stand in front of mirror and ask myself what is my purpose in life.” “And one day I found the answer from within.” The answer that he got a decade back made him resign from his job and start his own venture. A venture where money is not the top priority for him. This is an education venture where he not only teaches children who are the builders of our nation but also their parents to make them understand that the times are gone for creating a gap between a girl and a boy.

Today all are equal and have same set of responsibilities. Men are equally homemaker with their family as women of the house. If a woman can work full time why can't a man share household chores with her and #ShareTheLoad? If a mother can bear the pain of birth of her child, why can't father take the equal ownership when the child is born?

That is Swami who is building his army of youngsters to fight with these evils of our society and gear everyone up to #ShareTheLoad. I feel proud to be part of Swami's bandwagon. Find out Swami around you. It lies inside everybody's heart, mind, and soul.

#ShareTheLoad Be The Top Agenda of the Whole Country

A local politician's birthday prompted him to invite children from various schools at his place for celebration. A few guys from media also were invited as a strategic step to show Netaji's love for the kids of the nation. I decided to prompt Netaji on this occasion to know his views on #ShareTheLoad and let the representatives of Gen Next present there understand it. It was all unplanned. Netaji didn't know what I had in mind. Neither did anybody else have a hint about it.

#ShareTheLoad Be The Top Agenda of the Whole Country

The kids between the age 7-15 were assembled well in time at his premise. The setup was made outside lawns of his huge bungalow. A big pandal and a lot of chairs were organized on one side of the lawns. Another side had catering arrangements. The agenda was cake cutting by the birthday boy (Netaji), a short speech by him addressing children on how to build the country and what all is there in store for them to explore in future. After that there was a small session for media queries and then snacks and food for the children before they were to disperse for their respective places.

After the cake cutting ceremony, Netaji started addressing the children about his party's good work being done for the country in general, and children in specific. He shouldered a big responsibility on children as they were the next in queue to take onus of building the nation. He stressed on adopting good things from all across the globe and bring those into practice. After he closed his speech, questions from children and media were invited. Prompted by me, a kid sitting next to me raised his hand and asked the question I had injected into his ears. “Sir, Many happy returns of the day. I want to know what steps and direction should we as the younger generation take to curb gender prejudices?”, he asked Netaji.

“I am very impressed by the question you have asked and am happy that you raised this concern that everyone of us has been living with for so many years.” He replied with a smile on his face. “But the time has come that you children will have to take a lead and set an example at your home to kill this virus that has been haunting us for so many years.” He called the kid on stage. “Let me give you an example of what I do in this regard, and then you all can decide to take it further in your own way. My only request is not to stop your journey in between till we all are able to achieve #ShareTheLoad in the whole country.”

He invited one of his housemaids on stage. “Meet Kantabai. She has been working at my place since I was in school. When I was a kid like you all, I used to see her working so hard at our place. Then she would go to her quarter adjacent to our bungalow to do all her house chores. I found that her husband neither was having any job, nor was he helping his wife in any of their house chores. One day when he came to our place to inform that Kantabai was unwell and hence would not be able to come, I went along with him to their quarter. Kantabai was not in a good shape and hence I promised her to do their house chores that day. In the beginning her husband was just sitting and watching me but gradually somehow he felt something inside and started helping me. After sometime he told me to leave rest of the things that he would finish.”

“That day brought a big change in Kantabai's life as everyday when she would reach her quarter after finishing her job, she would find Rajaram, her husband busy in finishing house chore. He took the complete responsibility of all house chores.” Netaji was overwhelmed and so was everyone present there. “What are your takeaways from this story?” He asked children. And almost everyone was eager to reply. “I would request my parents not to differentiate between my sister and me and would ensure I don't get any extra advantage for being a boy.” One of them replied. And almost everyone had a similar kind of reply.

#ShareTheLoad Be The Top Agenda of the Whole Country

I was sure, the flame is lit in every heart and would definitely light every house these kids have come from to finish the age old conventions of woman only being a perfect homemaker even when she has stepped out to share the financial load with man. Now men will not feel ashamed in #SharingTheLoad and even if some of them do, the children will not let them, now. One thing is clear, every Netaji is not fake. There are few with great leadership qualities to set an example for others. I hope every child will become a true leader in this regard for his parents, peers, family, friends, and whosoever comes in their life.

It is the first time I am not consuming all and keeping half of the collection for display for its uniqueness and artistic touch. The nomenclature of each variety itself speaks a lot about the motive behind creating this unique collection.

“Tea is a marvelous thing. It can neither be explained nor ignored.” - Agatha Chris Tea

The TeaBook aims to launch a new themed series of Collect Teables every month on the names of musicians, politicians, philosophers, celebrities, or even animals. What a unique and exciting idea it is. Each series of teas will be drawn by a different person (or animal) in a unique style. The TeaBook Launches Collect Teables in Artistically Drawn Tea Wrappers

The tea foils, with Collect Teables, will never be boring. The front of each Tea Wrapper contains the title and type of tea packed inside that is the minimum labeling required by the U.S. FDA. Besides this there will be the artist's signature on the wrapper. The reverse of each foil will have a fun-filled, slightly modified quote related to the tea. In addition to this there is the usual (generic) information that you would expect to find on any tea foil.

The TeaBook Collect Teables - “To tea or not to tea...” ShakeSpearmint

Don't forget to check other authors like Mark Twainquility (Chamomile flavor) and CeryanTeas (Chai) along with many more to be launched in the coming months. The motive behind this launch is to bring these amazing authors back to daily life of their fans and supporters for which you will have to order your own set of Collect Teables from The TeaBook. These are zero waste products and are shipped box-less in order to reduce waste in shipping and packaging but without compromising with the quality or delivery of the product.

The TeaBook Launches Collect Teables in Artistically Drawn Tea Wrappers

Once someone opens it, there will be well crafted pages holding 144 different varieties of teas with each tea in a perfect view. This way, each guest and family member can select their own choice of tea just by flipping the desired page instead of settling on whatever tea is there on the top of tea tin. With this unique concept there is no further digging through the tea box, tea drawer or tea cabinet required. Let it be every tea lover's cup of tea.

The eventful Business event had three introspective and enlightening panel discussions, and two lively and innovative ramp shows. The topic for the first panel discussion was “Luxury for Masses”. With the change in time definition of luxury keeps changing. What was luxury yesterday is a common need for all today. But Luxury remains luxury and is never for masses. Only point of satisfaction is that what a man couldn't afford yesterday because it was luxury, is within his reach today. This happens because of two reasons – one, the elevation of a human being on financial front, and two, the level of luxury has changed so what was luxury yesterday has been replaced by some other commodity today.
