WHY THERE ARE NO NOYONTARA FLOWERS by SHAHIDUL ZAHIR #bookreview @HarperCollins #bookchatter #tbrchallenge @blogchatter @HarperCollinsIN

Before I review the book with a long title 'WHY THERE ARE NO NOYONTARA FLOWERS IN AGARGAON COLONY: STORIES' by SHAHIDUL ZAHIR and TRANSLATED FROM THE BENGALI BY V. RAMASWAMY; comprising of these beautiful ten stories, I have a small question for you all. I have an intimate friend from my childhood. From childhood till today, it is an unforgettable and awe-inspiring time to sit with him, whenever we get a chance to meet. This is the time when both of us completely forget about the time. No matter how much time we spend together, little remains. Do you have such a person in life?  The same thing happened to me with this book. Every story appears like a new journey of life. These well written stories show a whole new color of art of writing and expression.

WHY THERE ARE NO NOYONTARA FLOWERS by SHAHIDUL ZAHIR #bookreview @HarperCollins #bookchatter #tbrchallenge @blogchatter @HarperCollinsIN

These simple-looking stories from the outside hit straight to the heart, and leave with a touching touch of love, giving a very interesting, gripping, deep, and serene feel in 'WHY THERE ARE NO NOYONTARA FLOWERS IN AGARGAON COLONY: STORIES' by SHAHIDUL ZAHIR. The title of the book, actually is the title of one of the stories of this book. The characters of every story seem familiar even though they are unfamiliar in reality. Each story appears like actually happening, and me being a part of it. Something like a hidden character witnessing everything that happens and experiencing every character in person. This is what it feels about such places and whatever is happening.

Whether it is the delicious dalpuri of Abdul Karim, the main character of 'Where's my heart wander' and his wooer Abdul Aziz byapari, or Abdul Karim's endless journey to find Shefali Begum's house. All this and so much happens in a single story. A lot is there in each of the stories on a very large frame. Each character of every story is main in itself. Similarly, every event that is happening in any of the stories, is the main event in itself. Great credit for this book 'WHY THERE ARE NO NOYONTARA FLOWERS IN AGARGAON COLONY: STORIES' by SHAHIDUL ZAHIR goes to its translator V. Ramaswamy, who translated it from its original Bengali language into English. The great thing is that there was absolutely no loss of interest in any story due to this translation. This is an incredible and commendable thing.

The book's cover and title are both as special as its stories. After reading many story books, I gave it to other people so that they too can enjoy those books. But this book is something special and I like to keep it with me, making it a part of my personal library. These stories are really worth re-reading. The story and style of writing is really awesome. Never even dreamed that selling watermelon in a residential area can bring so much change in the living and thinking of that area. 'The History Of Our Cottage Industry' is one such story in 'WHY THERE ARE NO NOYONTARA FLOWERS IN AGARGAON COLONY: STORIES' by SHAHIDUL ZAHIR. According to me, these ten stories are a compilation of ten short novels in themselves.

You can buy this book from Amazon India here.

Bella #shortstory #BlogchatterA2Z #PebbleInWatersWrites @blogchatter

Bella.  I could never forget her.  Even after so many years.  Her silky hair was golden brown.  Her hair used to shine like gold in the sun.  She was not ordinary at all.  There was a different kind of vibe in her.  There was a different look on her face all the time, very graceful kind.  As long as she was there with me, I could twirl her silky hair without a hitch.  She probably didn't have a problem with it either.  I could feel her face, her eyes, her hair, her head very precisely with my fingers.  Maybe with her consent.  I also think she liked it all.  So the point was that both of us started having a lot of fun in it.  Every time I encountered her during the day, I used to repeat this process.  Her elegance and slim body were amazing.  As if a sculptor has made his best idol and put life in it.  As if a creator has created a creation full of life.

Bella was not her name when she first came into my life.  She probably didn't even have a name then.  I would have been maybe four or five years old at that time when I met her first.  It was evening time.  I was playing outside the house all alone.  And I found her hanging on a grape arbor/vine in my verandah.  She was frightened badly.  She needed help.  Just helpless in that meek voice.  She was not more than three weeks then at that time.  I didn't know how she had reached the middle of the arbor.  And when I saw her, I found both her back legs hanging in the air.  It was such that she would fall now or fall then.  And before she lost all courage and fell down, I had my eyes on her.  It was not that I had not seen any kitten before that.  But I had never seen such a young one and in such a helpless state.

When I saw her for the first time, I felt like a bond forming with her.  I grabbed her with my little hands, took care of her wihile taking her off from the grapevine, and brought her home.  She didn't even try to go anywhere.  I could comfortably fit her my hands.  After bringing her home, I gave her milk in a bowl, caressed a little and after that my house became her too. I named her Bella because I found her hanging on a vine.  After that Bella and I had a special relationship.  I was 23 years old when she breathed her last in my own hands.  For a long time, I was very depressed and even food had almost stopped.  Then, slowly I calmed down.  Even after so many years, she is still in my mind as she is around somewhere.  Bella is with me even after going for so many years.

All Is Well #shortstory #BlogchatterA2Z #PebbleInWatersWrites @blogchatter

All is well.  I asked Ramesh how is everything going.  He gave me this answer without bringing any emotion on the flat face.  At first I felt very strange why he spoke in such a rude manner.  Then I thought what should I do and why should I bother.  We were in the same class in school.  And every year we moved together in the same next class.  I took science.  He also took science.  12 years ago we all separated after finishing school education.  After that, even meeting after so many years, he only recognized me.  His face had changed a lot.  I probably hadn't changed much.  We didn't have much friendship in school.

All Is Well #shortstory #BlogchatterA2Z #PebbleInWatersWrites @blogchatter

He was top in studies and I was thoroughly in sports.  I was fine in studies.  Yes, never came first like him always. There are some things about him that I still remember and have never been able to wipe off from my memory.  Till that day I was sure that he had nothing to do with sports.  I always thought he was just a bookworm.  We had reached the final of our region in badminton and our position was also very strong.  We were almost certain to win the trophy.  Two days later it was the final match and one of our great players got sick. I don't know from where our coach brought Ramesh in his place.  We all wondered what had happened to the coach.

No one dared to go and question coach about that.  Now,  none of us thought that we would win in the final.  But there was another surprise for all of us.  We won the trophy and won on the strength of Ramesh.  I asked him then how he did it.  Even then he had the same answer, all is well.  Then I came to know that this person was not only top in studies but also had a hidden talent in many other things.  I remember one more incident about him.   It was our last year in school and final exams were going on.  On the day of the last examination, Ramesh entered the hall after 15 minutes of the commencement of the examination.

He was absolutely calm.  No excitement.  No panic on the face.  Very calmly he started giving the exam.  Yes, on that day, his pen was a little quicker than the other days.  After the examination, his close friends asked him how was the examination.  He had the same answer, all is well. When they asked his he got late he told on his way he found a calf stuck his front legs in an open gutter and was not able to move out. So, Ramesh decided to put his exam on stake that day and save the life of that calf. And he succeeded. In both. The interesting thing is that despite all this, he came first.

He was a unique personality.  Never used to pretend.  He had a calm disposition.  Didn't speak more than required.  He was serious all the time.  One more thing I came to know about him after meeting him today.  How high to keep the level of competence and success is always in our hands.  Even after coming top in IAS, instead of taking any post of royal fun, Ramesh took the responsibility of working for the development of far flung villages by making a special request to the government.  If anyone has the power to stand on the scorching sands of the desert and say all is well, then he will be Ramesh or someone like Ramesh.  And that person will also have enough power to grow roses in the sand.

Ramesh is the owner of a different personality. I termed that personality class as - All is well.

Tainted Is Better #shortstory #shortstories #DelhiMetroStories 1

Whether you believe it or not public transport is a superb source of real life stories. At least, it's 100% true in my case. Whenever I travel in Delhi Metro, by the time I reach at my destination, irrespective of covering short of long distance, I have at least one story in my pocket. And these stories are realistic, full of warmth, carrying a high level of human touch, and are instantaneous, mostly. This first story is pre-Covid time. It was about to be that evening time rush hour peak time zone in next 15-20 minutes when I boarded it from Connaught Place. Luckily, I got a seat. A young girl was sitting next to me. She was on the phone talking to her father. It was something quite serious that they were discussing over the phone.

The girl was going back home after office. It seemed this was something she wanted to discuss only with her father in privacy, not at home in presence of the whole family. She was least bothered about it being discussed in metro with so many people around. Probably the matter was more serious and the girl was quite matured. She was discussing about her love with a boy who is divorced. "Papa, whatsoever it is, this Shankar is far more better than that boy you finalized for me a year ago. This guy is innocent and genuine. He is straightforward and clear on his thoughts. He himself told me that before we move ahead, you need to know something about me that you don't know at all. He clearly told me about his wife and how she bluffed him."

"Look at the boy you finalized for me. He was a complete flirt. Despite we for engaged, he kept his relations intact with his girlfriends that too beyond limits and shamelessly. What respect he had for you or for me or for that sake our relationship?" She paused because his father was arguing with her from the other side. No, Papa. I don't agree with you on this. It's my life, my marriage, and my happiness. I care least for society and opinions of our relatives. I am clear that Shankar is going to keep me happy all my life. He has very clearly told me that we won't be marrying until his divorce case is over in the court. Probably, that will take another year. And till then, he says, we are just good friends and need to stay within our limits."

"Finally, Papa, if You think he is tainted, for me tainted is better. Please, this is my life. How could I live with a person who is my husband and is cheating me openly by having affairs with so many other girls? You please call Rahul and tell him clearly that we break our engagement and he is free to carry on with his colourful life his own way."

Piya Tose Naina Laage Re #BlogchatterA2z #shortstory #shortstories

I hope you remember Tara Roshnipuria and Roshan Lokhandpure, my protagonists in the previous post. If you remember, at the end, I marked that post as 'To be continued... ". Well, so this is the concluding post. Let's recapture the key events of the first day of Tara in her college. She is feeling as if she has entered a huge sea all of a sudden and this is a major change in her life. Till her school it was just like a small pond with everything so rigid and fixed. And here, it's a mix of do much of vibrancy, energy, zeal, rhythm, and variance. Tara is mesmerized by the super melodious voice of Roshan who sings a song in the formal meet of freshers, seniors, and professors in the college canteen. Tara is fond of music and books. Also, Tara has a graceful personality with a strong aura. She is sharp, intelligent, beautiful, and intelligent.

It was an open atmosphere in the canteen. The get together was till the lunchtime after which the first two classes of the session were there. There was enough time for that. The stage was open for anybody and everybody. Snacks and drinks were going on. For Tara, it was a good opportunity to get acquainted with her classmates, professors, and seniors. It was quite a congenial environment. While she was talking to Dr. Saraswati she found that the professor is as passionate about music and books as Tara. That created a strong bonding between the two. And then all of a sudden Professor pushed her gently towards the stage - "Let's sing, come." "Sure mam but which song?", Tara asked her. "Oh, come on, any classical will do. We can decide on the stage itself."

We both were there on the stage. "Roshan, please come to the stage immediately with your keyboard and my tabla set. Your services are required SOS." Roshan was there within a few seconds. For the first 5 minutes, Dr. Saraswati and Roshan had a jugalbandi session. That created a heavenly atmosphere in the canteen. Every moment was as if it had frozen for a while except the music that was floating in the air moving from ears to ears binding heart-to-heart. After that magical spell, Dr. Saraswati told Roshan to set his keyboard for - Piya Tose Naina Laage Re. She confirmed from me if I was comfortable singing that with her. I was. We started. Our vocals gelled quite well. On top of that tabla and keyboard made it excellent.
piyaa tose nainaa laage re, nainaa laage re

It was a standing ovation from all around in the canteen. The lunch was about to start. Dr. Saraswati introduced me with Roshan before she left us to join her colleagues. About Roshan, I got to know he was in second year of Biotechnology. He had an aim of going for some medical research later. His father was working with Indian Navy as a very high rank. He was a marine engineer. His mother was a surgeon with Indian Army. Roshan was the only child of his parents.

Gradually, we developed a great friendship during college days. Participating in college festivals was regular for both of us, and we won many awards in music. After college, we both joined our respective streams in different colleges at different locations. Finally, we got married.

O Hansini #shortstory #BlogchatterA2z #shortstories

Hello, my name is Tara Roshnipuria. I am sharing my story because I still believe in love despite what all has happened to me in the past, is happening now, or is going to happen in the future. If you had asked me a few years back, specifically before my marriage, I would have very clearly convinced you that whatever happens in life is all written already in your destiny and you despite you putting all your energies for or against it, if it is not destined to happen it will never, and if it has to happen, it definitely will. But today if you ask me, I will say it is all debit and credit mechanism of life that is dynamically updated on every life transactions we make on every day basis. I don't want to force you to believe what I am saying. For you, there could be any other formula. So, let it be.

Music and books used to be my passion during my school days. In music, I loved Bollywood melodious romantic songs and I never got bored with listening to those. That evergreen song "O Hansini Meri Hansini, Kahaan Ud Chali, Mere Aramaanon Ke Pankh Lagaake, Kahaan Ud Chali, O Hansini Meri Hansini". In fact, many nights it would happen that I set my music player on auto reverse mode, put earphones, and go to bed. So, this music would keep playing the whole night. I would put it off at 2 or 3 or mostly in the morning when I would wake up.

It was my first day in the college. That first day of college is always a special day in everybody's life in many ways. I had topped in my school and hence had got admission in the course of my choice. It was a college of repute. One of the top colleges in the country. It was my good luck that it was in the same city where I lived, and I got admission here quite easily because of my superb academic record. The college had their own luxury buses running on various routes in the city to facilitate the pickup and drop of their students. I had to walk hardly 3-4 minutes from my home to board one of their buses that had its starting point there.

Everything was informed and arranged will in advance at the time of admission so that there were no hassles at the beginning of the session. The college was very professional and well organized. Every route had a trial run 10 days in advance for two days. So, on the first day we had classes from the second half. In the first half we had to collect our joining kit, have a complete tour of the college, and then for two hours everybody was supposed to be there in the college canteen for a formal acquaintance of all our professors, classmates, and freshers from other courses, and of course seniors. Ragging would happen, but that would be more of an introducing and getting familiar mechanism.

After collection of my kit, badge, and other relevant information, I walked towards the canteen. Our college was a big campus. From office to canteen, it was a little distance along the green corridors of the college. I think most had reached to the canteen because on the way there were very few. In the office also, I found a few freshers collecting their docs. During the college round it was the library that fascinated me and I spent a lot of time there exploring a huge collection of international class of books on various categories. That's why probably I was a little late.

"Hansini, hey there" I noticed somebody calling from my back. There was nobody in front of me for a short distance. The call was for me perhaps. Somebody might have mistaken me for somebody else. I turned. "Hey, Hansini, how are you?" There was an element of naughtiness in his voice, smile, and eyes. He was smart, tall, handsome, and sober looking boy. "Excuse me, I am not Hansini", I said curtly. "Doesn't matter, I am Roshan Lokhandpure", he pulled his hand towards me. "I am
Tara Roshnipuria," I said and started walking towards the canteen. He pulled his hand back with a bit of glow vanishing from his face. We entered the canteen together. There was a small stage at one end and a number of tables on the other with a good number of drinks and dishes being served. In between there were long-standing tables, bar chairs, normal chairs, etc. The next moment, Roshan was there on the stage having a mouth organ in one hand, a huge professional keyboard set there, and he was singing in a superb melodious voice:

O Hansni Meri Hansni, Kahaan Ud Chali
Mere Aramaanon Ke Pankh Lagaake, Kahaan Ud Chali
O Hansni Meri Hansni, Kahaan Ud Chali
Mere Aramaanon Ke Pankh Lagaake, Kahaan Ud Chali
O Hansni Meri Hansni
Aaja Meri Saanson Mein Mahak Raha Re Tera Gajra
O Aaja Meri Raaton Mein Lahak Raha Re Tera Kajra
O Hansni Meri Hansni, Kahaan Ud Chali
Mere Aramaanon Ke Pankh Lagaake, Kahaan Ud Chali
O Hansni Meri Hansni, Kahaan Ud Chali
Mere Aramaanon Ke Pankh Lagaake, Kahaan Ud Chali
O Hansni Meri Hansni
Der Se Lehron Mein Kamal Semblable Hue Man Ka
Jeevan Taal Mein Bhatak Raha Re Tera Hansaa
Der Se Lehron Mein Kamal Sambhaale Hue Man Ka
Jeevan Taal Mein Bhatak Raha Re Tera Hansaa
O Hansni Meri Hansni, Kahaan Ud Chali
Mere Aramaanon Ke Pankh Lagaake, Kahaan Ud Chali
O Hansni Meri Hansni

It was a treat for every ear the way he sang it, played on his mouth organ, and mixed in on his keyboard.

To continue...

Harry Puttar and Herby Kaur - A Love Story #lovestory #shortstory #blogchattera2z

Dear Pappa ji, Sat Sri Akal and Pairi Pauna. I am good here, as usual. How are you? You know whenever I am disturbed, I write you a letter and relieve myself from the stress. You only taught me - "Increase your happiness, increase your blessings, and keep offloading your excessive baggage that burdens your mind and heart." I am strictly following it. Pappa ji you know very well how deeply I love your daughter-in-law Harbhajan (Herby) Kaur. If that was not the case, I would have never left you within 4 months of our marriage. And along with you, I left so many things of my life there. After that, we never walked together. Herby was always a step ahead, and I was always following behind her. For the last three months, I developed a severe pain in my left shoulder.

I remember you always used to tell me, "Harry Puttar, life without discipline is always going to be troublesome sooner or later." But I never followed it. You know that I never wanted to visit a hospital for this as I have always been scared that hospitals are there to complicate the case. So, I stared finding its cure on my own trying different remedies. Now, after three months, it's under control but not fully cured. Now, let me get back to the point. 20 days back, I had chicken and the next day I noticed a little relief in my pain. So the next three weeks I ordered chicken online, prepared it at home and had it during lunch. Herby had left eating non veg. So it was only me consuming it.

Three days back she declared all of a sudden that no chicken shall be prepared in the kitchen henceforth. That was shocking. She said I can order ready-made and have it but no raw deliveries at home. It's Not that she doesn't love me. Rather, I think, she loves me more than I love her. During all this pain period she always ensured asking me about my pain at least once a week or so. She is definitely very soft-hearted. My point of concern is that I am missing chicken 🐔. You know very well, I don't order ready-made food from outside. Like I don't trust hospitals, I don't trust these delivery points, their hygiene, and their ethical practices. I just keep wondering where is my chicken. You suggest what should I do?

Thuvadda Sauna Puttar,
Harry

#ColgateMagicalStories: An Evening Well Spent with Chintu

Chintu lives next door. He is Mr. Sharma's youngest son. Mr. Sharma is my neighbor. He is also my favorite neighbor in this neighborhood colony where we live. Afterwards, when I talk about #ColgateMagicalStories, Chintu's talent will automatically speak of itself. While I talk about Mr. Sharma, it is more important to talk about Chintu. Although Chintu is in second grade, he is quite talkative, hyperactive, and very intelligent. As a matter of fact, from Bollywood to Ancient India, there is nothing that Chintu is not aware of. Chintu is quite creative in that aspect. He loves visiting my home. In fact it is almost at least a visit everyday. While Chintu is around, nobody gets bored. He can talk on any subject. Although he talks too much, he never talks anything meaningless. Let us wait for #ColgateMagicalStories moments.

#ColgateMagicalStories: An Evening Well Spent with Chintu
Last week Chintu was at my place when there was a courier delivered at my doorstep. Also, I had no clue what was there inside the packet. In the second place, I never thought this is the #ColgateMagicalStories packet. While I was about to open the packet, Chintu perhaps smelled it. He yelled and snatched the packet from my hand. All this was quite in a friendly manner. As a matter of fact, I like when Chintu performs such kiddish activities. It takes me years back of my age. I become childish with Chintu. Perhaps that is one of the prime reasons, he loves visiting my home. In addition, Chintu brings a different kind of spark at home. Secondly, we have become too dependent on him to bring smile on our faces.
#ColgateMagicalStories: An Evening Well Spent with Chintu

#ColgateMagicalStories Is  An Ocean of Stories

The moment Chintu opened the packet, his face started beaming. Besides, I could sense something fresh is going to pop up. Though I was under depression to see 4 empty packs of #ColgateMagicalStories, Chintu took not time to understand the magic behind them. He immediately put me to task to cut the packs. Also I was warned not to damage any sketch or drawing. Again, he was planning to create some fantastic stories out of the sea world creatures and related drawings/sketches inside each pack. And I knew my job will not be over even if I cut each picture neatly. Nor will it end the same day. I was sure Chintu is going to create infinite number of stories from these pictures. As a matter of fact, the four packs titled as Coral Reef, Treasure Hunt, Sea Magic, and Pirate Ship are now his possession.

#ColgateMagicalStories: An Evening Well Spent with Chintu
Without delay Chintu's mind could jot down a sketch of each character. Further he was quickly creating a story in his mind. All characters Sea Turtle, Sadie, Parrot, Mermaid, Sea Horse, Dolphin, Shark, Crab, Lion Fish, Whale, String Ray, Star Fish, Puffer Fish, Octopus, and Sword Fish. They have become Chintu's friends now. The four packs have discovered another Chintu within him. The drawings and characters have unlocked his imagination to a different level. The sea creatures & trivia inside those packs have empowered him to explore different world every time he sits with them. One time effort of cutting them have opened a complete toy store for Chintu.
#ColgateMagicalStories: An Evening Well Spent with Chintu

#ColgateMagicalStories is a Phenomenon

Every day Chintu is creating a new story with #ColgateMagicalStories sea creatures & trivia. Every story brings in a new learning. As a matter of fact, now every day Chintu is creating a new story by weaving his imagination together. Moreover it is not only a learning for him, we all are learning something new everyday. We all are cherishing his creativity crossing new boundaries every day. And we all know the real power behind this. It is #ColgateMagicalStories.

#LoveChallenge The Love With Her Is As Young As It Was at First Sight

First time when I saw her, I was just 4 or 5, don't remember exactly now. Her feet were touching mine. She was not fair in color as me. In fact, she was black. So black that I had to break my head in identifying how she looked like. She was just mimicking me, I don't for fun or if she had something else in her mind. I stopped walking and she also would stop. I started walking and she also would start walking. She was like a magician. She had an art of changing directions while walking. Sometimes she would walk in front, sometimes at my back. But she never left me during the day. When I ran, she ran along with me. When I bent, she bent along with me.

Whatever I was doing, she was doing ditto the same. One more thing that I noticed is that she could become taller, shorter, or equal to my size. Initially I was afraid to see this but then I started enjoying it. This was my first day with her and I enjoyed a lot playing with her throughout the day. I ran, stopped, walked, bent, rolled, somersaulted, danced, jumped, and did what not, to see her doing the same.

That night was very tough for everyone at home.

The moment I reached home after playing outside, it was almost sunset time. The lights inside the house were being switched on one by one as it had started getting dark outside. I got worried for a while when I found my new friend missing but soon I found her. She was around. I was happy. I found myself a little passionate myself towards her. Probably l had fallen in love with her. This is what I learned later when I grew up. I also learned later that it was the first love of my life. That night, after we finished dinner etc. and it was time to go to bed, the lights were switched off. I looked around and could not find her. And I started crying. I didn't know her name still. It was shocking that we stayed together all day but we didn't talk. In fact, I had tried talking to her but there was no response from her side. That night I didn't let anybody switch off the light as I could see her around only then.

This love remained intact and is as young as it was that day even today. I know her well now. I know I exist till she exists. The day she vanishes from my life in light will bring total dark forever. The love that started with her at first sight is still intact. She gave me company throughout like nobody else could have given. She stayed with me all the time. She has been a courage for me. She is my inspiration. She is a promise to stay with me forever irrespective of others come and go. I have her in my life. She is my shadow. I still remember the first day I recognized her fell in love with her, and probably I became her shadow since then.

Life On A Canvas - A Short Story

Daniel is a sweet boy of four. His father Samuel is an artist. Samuel married Maria six years back. A year after his marriage he had a big fight Maria to an extent that they were on the verge of divorce. The reason was baseless. Maria wanted Samuel to help her in household chores. Samuel was taught right from his childhood that it is the wife who has to do everything. And everything means everything. She has to buy vegetables, cook them, serve them, clear the utensils, clean them, place them back and then get to the next task.

Maria had been brought up in an atmosphere entirely opposite to it. Her father was always there to help her mother. He never hesitated to do anything. He never differentiated in fact, between the household chores to be done by a man and to be done by a woman. She had lived in a wonderful atmosphere. But here the story was entirely different. Something drastically opposite to what she had seen since her childhood. She could never accept it. How could she wipe off every word written on her mind and rewrite everything that too entirely opposite to what was written earlier? How could she clear every impression that was there in her heart and replace it with something that she could not accept? That is why the day Samuel told her he would not be able to lend her a helping hand with domestic chores; she decided to go back to her parents. She knew it was not a simple decision but then she could not spend her whole life with Samuel like this.

Samuel was heartbroken. What he was saying to Maria was what he was taught throughout. But he loved Maria like anything. He could not think of separation. He called his mentor Dr Raghu. Dr Raghu used to come to buy Samuel’s paintings. He was a public speaker and lifestyle imaging consultant. Dr Raghu just asked him a simple question that opened his eyes and transformed his divisive thinking to uniting thinking. Dr Raghu asked Samuel if he is a stakeholder in his home, his wife, his life and his family. When Samuel nodded in affirmation Dr Raghu asked how he can live so ignorantly and partially with a claim of being an equal stakeholder. How can stakes be claimed without responsibility and ownership? That was the moment when Samuel realized what Maria was asking was mere to contribute in their life.

And then they started living happily. After a year, Daniel arrived to double their happiness. The journey of life goes on… Luckily Daniel will never learn what his father was taught during childhood. He will learn what his father learnt after a year of his marriage.

“I am joining the Ariel #ShareTheLoad campaign at BlogAdda and blogging about the prejudice related to household chores being passed on to the next generation.”

A Strong Governance To Build Strong India: A Short Story

India needs a strong governance with complete intolerance against nonsense

A strong government can build a strong nation

Tolerance does not mean 'no action' against culprits

Anupam Sejriwal is the chief minister of the capital of the great secular country India. The country is known to accommodate all cultures and religions with same intensity and vigor. Somehow there are a lot of irresponsible and antisocial elements that have penetrated the peaceful country. These elements try to create a lot of disturbances within the country. The country has a high level of vigilance that ensures that none of such activities are successful. Everyone in the country is responsible for building a strong India. A strong governance is important. In this highly tolerant country, the strong governance has to run the show with intolerant governance. This is important to keep the crime rate under control. The intolerance is only for the crimes and disturbing elements in the country.
The city has a big heart. It is a city of diversity. On one hand there are multinational companies, high society, hotels, and huge malls. On the other hand, it has been accommodating the migrants from urban areas for higher education and job opportunities. Being A class metro city, there are plenty of opportunities for the same. Youth from other states, cities and villages come to the capital city for learning and higher education. Because of ample scope of jobs, a lot of youth get settled here only after completing their education. They are able to earn almost 4-5 times than they would earn in their native places. Sejriwal is well aware of this fact. To keep the city peaceful and under control, he has built a secret task force for the same. The task force comprises of a skillful think tank and action packed teams. There are scholars, educationists, industrialists and innovators in these teams. Each team has a clear cut agenda to execute. The city has to be as beautiful and accommodative as it has been for years.

A Strong Governance To Build Strong India: A Short Story

The task force of Sejriwal also comprises of investigators, commandos, and fighters. Every evening Sejriwal conducts a meeting for the latest know-how of the city. The investigating agencies are always on their toes to perform their best in order to keep the things under control. A major headache in the city currently is the strike that broke out all of a sudden by the municipal agencies. Being a capital city, there are multiple municipal bodies in the city. These bodies planned to go on strike for the sake of their pending salaries. Due to financial crunch, their salaries were pending for last few years. The earlier state government was responsible for this chaos. But it was Sejriwal who had to manage the show now. He was already aware of the situation. He understood the gravity. He had already instructed his special task force to build an inventory of the people who are jobless and fit well in the respective agencies. He created a big pool of money from his reserved funds to clear off the pending salaries. But these municipal bodies were being secretly governed by the political opponents. That is why even after Sejriwal cleared their arrears and everyone got paid off, still the strike was not called off.

Sejriwal, after a strict warning to these bodies, terminated everyone who was on strike. At the same time the new recruitments were done so that city doesn’t suffer. The functioning of the city didn’t suffer at all. There was a complete overhaul of the staff on a roll right from top to bottom. That is what is required from a fantastico chief minister. The problem creators were removed from the power. It proved that the kingdom is as strong as its leader. The leader proved his worth. A strong governance is a must.

This blog post is inspired by the blogging marathon hosted on IndiBlogger for the launch of the #Fantastico Zica from Tata Motors. You can  apply for a test drive of the hatchback Zica today.

Tastes of Life - Maggie or Marie - A Short Story #timecapsule

A Short story about tastes of life and how it impacts you #timecapsule

Maggie or Marie - everyone has this challenge in life #timecapsule

The tastes of life can force you to dig up a time capsule #timecapsule

Tastes of Life - Maggie or Marie - A Short Story #timecapsule

When I lost you I never realized. I didn’t realize a part of my body was imputed. It was all painless. I was illusioned at that time for wrong reasons. Marie was the reason. You slid off quite swiftly from my life and memories. I let it go, from both the segments, intentionally and unintentionally. You never complained about this to me. In fact, you knew about what was cooking between Marie and me. I had gone mad after Marie. Like I had gone mad after you. It was during my school days when we interacted for the first time. It took a long time to decide Maggie or Marie.

Tastes of Life - Maggie or Marie - A Short Story #timecapsule

You were with Suzy. She introduced you to me. I was mesmerized. You were wonderful. Life was awful at that time. It was like love at first sight. I don’t know if it was the same thing with you or not. And when I got to know your name while Suzy was introducing us – Maggie – my love doubled. What a beautiful name. My tastes of life had started getting colors. The plain natured and docile Rocky, your Rocky, started changing to a dashing star of the school. Everyone started noticing the change in me. I knew you were the reason. That day I thought and decided, there will be nobody between you and me, henceforth. Suzy was not required anymore for further meetings with you.

Maggie, I always loved you. You always did whatever I wished. You came in my life and brought so much happiness along. I was absolutely in a stunning mode that time. The relationship continued. I moved from school to college, and then from college to job. You were always with me, throughout, undemanding. You gave me all the leverages of your life to me. Day or night, whenever I wanted to hold you, I did. You never resisted. You were always happy because I was happy.

Marie came into my life when I was in the middle of my career. My health was not very good at that juncture. Mom brought Marie home one day. She took me in a corner and whispered in my ears. She told me that you are not good for my life. I should leave you and carry on my life further with Marie. I was stunned to hear this. I could not even think of it. Mom had tears in her eyes. She was worried about my health. I never knew why she was blaming you for this. I could see the sad face and wet eyes. Probably you had understood well before my actions about what was going to happen in your life and my life.

Tastes of Life - Maggie or Marie - A Short Story #timecapsule

That one day spent with Marie in my room changed all the tastes of my life. Within a week, I decided you are not fit for my life, anymore, any further. We departed. I was happy. You were sad. I had smiles on my face holding Marie on my side. You were tearful. You departed silently, not even demanding a last kiss. You wished me and Marie all the wishes of life. I started forgetting you soon after. It was just Marie and me. Life was joyful. And then I got to know about some legal implications you get caught in. I never bothered to understand or know about it further. You were just my past.

Time flew like anything. You were like a time capsule containing that part of life when we were together. I had buried that time capsule years ago. It was just Marie and our kisses. You were tall, Marie was short. You were thin, Marie was slim. You were a soundless partner of my life. Marie was crackling all the time. For many years, we lived happily together. Suddenly I started realizing Marie never loved me. And shockingly I never loved Marie. We were just fulfilling the wishes of someone else. I started missing you Maggie. I started missing the time we used to spend together. I started remembering the way you would run in my hands, whenever I needed you. You were always there for me. But that was not the case with Marie. She turned out to be a wrong partner of my life.

I started craving for you. I tried searching you. Not a single memory was left in the house. I tried to find you elsewhere. There was no place where I could find a hint. I was totally desperate. Despite all good efforts I, couldn’t find any memorabilia. Instead, during the search, I found my phone that was lying on the bed, on mute. The light indication was telling there was a call. It was Sudhakar on the line. I picked the call. “Sir,” he told me, “Shall I bring Maggie home. The government has lifted the ban.”.  And that was enough to bring tears to my eyes. We were uniting again, forever.  The life is back on the track. The tastes of life are back to original.

Music of Lingerie Is the Beginning of Trouble - A Short Story

A short story on how a lingerie can change your life

A small purchase of a lingerie on a laptop from an online story created a big trouble

The technology of online study of user behavior is a trouble maker

Who said men can’t be daring enough to search online? The man is a searching creeper right since the beginning. You search something, you get. You start searching something else. You get something else. And the hunt goes on. It never ends. The man never understands what a particular search meant for. The search goes untiringly. There is no end to the determination. This is a story of how a small search online empowered technology to blackmail me thereafter. The music of a lingerie can be so costly and long lasting, I never anticipated. I am not a good anticipator that means. I can’t judge the album by its cover. I can’t estimate the gravity of an action viz a viz its reaction. I can’t estimate the echoing of music and it’s long lasting thrills.

Well, I tried to be a Robinhood for my wife. She wanted to go to the market and I told her to let me help her buying her required clothing accessories online. She agreed. And that was the beginning of a conspiracy against me. Technology is the culprit that was conspiring against me. I was not at all aware of it. I was never alarmed by any indication or sign. I opened my laptop and started searching for the accessories she wanted. It zeroed down to an online store. The product was selected and order was placed. The product reached in next 9-10 days. The story does not end here. It is not a happy ending. It is the day when I ordered that I landed myself into a big trouble. I use chrome browser mostly. Even if the laptops vary, from home to office, the browser remains same. IT is the technology of location-based user behavior study that played a prank with me. The search and purchase of a lingerie can land a man into a big trouble, sometimes.

The chrome browser captured my behavior, even if it was a one-time act. It registered in its mind that I am a big fan of lingeries. It also registered that I am a fan of lingeries from a particular online store. The store is already registered with Google Adwords for online display of its ads. The store is not only registered with Google but also with most of the prominent online social media platforms. The painful story starts here.

I reached office next morning. My subordinate came to me seeking some help. I immedialtely accepted her offer and jumped into my browser to search and suggest the possible solution to her from online knowledge store. The moment I opened Google search on my Chrome browser, the side ad opened enchanting lingeries. Her eyes widened and she said – “So Boss, this is what you do in your leisure time?”. I was stunned.

The same thing happened in my Boss’ room when I wanted to give him some reference from LinkedIn and Facebook. Both the pages on the side had the same/similar ads promoting lingeries. Although he didn’t say anything but I could understand his keen observation in his eyes and a satiric smile on his face.  Truly, a lingerie can change your life. Music of lingerie started a big trouble for me, a long lasting one.
