WI v Eng: Gayle Leaves Charles Carries On With His Maiden Half Century

Third ball of 11th over of the English innings by Swann to Chris Gayle in the second Super Eights match  between West Indies and England was seen taking the aerial route to cross the boundary. That was fourth six by Gayle. First three were gifted by Patel in his first over to Gayle. But last ball of the same over was disastrous for Gayle as he got caught out by Finn at his individual score of 58 with 6 fours and 4 sixes. West Indies was 103 for the loss of 1 wicket.

Next to come to partner with Charles was Marlon Samuels. Charles was playing at 40 of 31 balls with 4 fours and 2 sixes. Average of the innings was 9.39 runs per over at that time. Last five over before Gayle got out, the average was 12 runs per over. Charles has crossed his highest score and is set to record a new highest score in his individual page. Samuels playing at 1 has 58 as his highest score in International Twenty20. After the end of 12th over WI were 114 for 1 with an average of 9.5. Charles was 1 run short of his first half century. And that he did on the first ball of the next over. By the end of 13th over the average had dipped down to 9.

7 more over to go. West Indies must build a score of around 180 to build a pressure on England.
