WI vs Eng WC2012 Twenty20: Gayle Going Strong Against English Bowlers

First six from Gayle in eight over of the second Super Eights match between West Indies and England is building up their run rate higher and higher and that is quite important too. It is Patel who is bowling to give the first six of the innings. In first 8 overs the run rate is 9 runs per over. Gayle is batting at 47 made in just 25 balls with 6 fours and 3 sixes. All three sixes gifted by Patel in the same over on his 3rd, 5th and 6th ball of the over.

With Chris Gayle, Johnson Charles is batting at the other end. He, though is not batting as harshly as his partner but 25 on 25 is not a bad equation as an opener batsman. And gradually Charles also decided to open his bat and go for an aerial shot. This was fourth six in two consecutive overs by England. Charles who was 25 runs in 25 balls reached to 37 in 28 balls by the end of 9th over of the game. Overall average is exactly 10. 3 sixes to Patel by Gayle and 2 sixes to Swann by Charles. What a synchronization it is.

Gayle going great guns with strike rate of 175 completed his half century in 10th over of the game on 29 balls he played. West Indies were 95 at the end of 10 overs of the game. West Indies won the toss and decided to go for bat first.
