Apple Sweetens Quarterly Results

Apple posted an increase in sales and net profit for the fourth quarter of 2009 the day before announcing new Christmas hardware. This has happened even when there was a marginal decline in year over year decline in iPod sales. Analysts at Thomson Reuters have assured that EPS (earning per share) will be beyond expectations.

Analysts also are expecting further increase in sales and profits in coming quarters. The posted revenue for the last quarter was well beyond the expected figures given earlier by the analysts.

Though there was an eight percent decline in sales from the previous year in iPods, the increase in sales of Mac computers and iPhone is accounted for this increase in sales and net profits.
