Novotel Chennai Property Review - A Great Experience #NovotelChennai

Novotel Chennai is an excellent place to stay. Rooms are a little smaller but yet fully comfortable. The overall property is much smaller as compared to their other huge properties like Novotel Hyderabad and Novotel Bangalore. One reason could be that it is in the heart of the city. Finding that huge space and constructing it from scratch must be a project to run for a decade, at least. But there is another reason to it that I found out while staying there. This is not Novotel's own property. It is owned by somebody else. The owner of this property is a retired officer from the Indian army. He must be fond of food having expertise in hospitality. There are 108 rooms. Food Exchange restaurant on the first floor. It is a very happening kind of place all the time. There are live kitchen counters for various dishes.

The dishes obviously change depending on the theme and time of the meal. Like in the morning, it could be a live counter for a variety of freshly made to order omelets. Another could be for Dosas. And one for Parathas. Similarly, in the afternoon it could be for grills, bread, and tawa items. So at dinner. Guests at Novotel Chennai really enjoy the food here. The food presentation, preparation, hygiene, all are well taken care of and is fabulous. I loved Palak Puri, Masala Dosa, Filter Coffee, Vegetable Stew, Butter Milk, Aloo Paratha here. These are a few of the dishes I relished during breakfast and lunchtimes. In fact, all the food is fabulous. I preferred to go to the buffet at dinner and breakfast to get a larger variety of food. And I realized, I took a wise decision because each dish was worth trying.

Novotel Chennai

Novotel Chennai a new rooftop restaurant Asian Grill started the day I was there. There is a separate bar here in the hotel. The place is decently managed. The entry to the hotel ? is on a busy road that too at the verge of a traffic signal. So, at times it might appear a long trail of vehicles in front of the hotel but there is nothing to worry. It's just a matter of the signal's light go green and the traffic gets flushed in no times. That is phenomenal that despite the road being hardly single lane it's managed well. Well, right entering from the road, after the security check of the vehicle, it's straight to the porch to drop guests. Right from there it's another world I experienced during my stay. It's a world of comfort, nice stay, good food, and great hospitality.

Novotel Chennai is well maintained, neat & clean, and lively. A couple of shortfalls I would like to mention here from my personal experience. Firstly, when I entered my room, though it was properly done, I could find only two full-size towels in the bathroom zone. When I asked the housekeeping, it was a surprise factor for them and immediately the room got replenished with hand ✋ towels and other stuff. Secondly, in the night ?, for my first dinner there, when I visited the only restaurant that in on the first floor, Food Exchange, it was not in very good shape despite hardly three out of around 10 tables occupied. There was a huge pile of used plates right adjacent to the small counter inside the restaurant. The unoccupied tables were least finished with proper napkins, spoons, knives, and forks.

In fact, it was hardly a single server in the restaurant. Though the buffet was well managed and so were the live counters. Later I found out that reason for that was something different. At the same time, it was the opening of the new restaurant Asian Grill which is on the rooftop of Novotel Chennai and a private opening party was thrown there by the owner entertaining his personal guests. The whole serving staff from here was moved there and that was the reason for a little chaos here. In the morning, at breakfast, the scenario was completely opposite. Everything was well managed and no lack of service was there. That was the actual state in fact. Last night was an exception. Overall, a great experience. I would recommend checking their buffet breakfast or dinner even if you don't stay in Novotel Chennai whenever you are in Chennai.
