#KnowYourRights To Build A Safer World

Poem: A Letter From A Girl To Her Mother

I promise to spread confidence in this world
I promise to be a symbol of confidence.
I promise not to let you down ever in front of anyone
I promise to be the protector and fighter
Rather than to surrender and become a victim.

I promise to be my own torch of knowledge
I promise to spread a wave of #KnowYourRights
I promise to fight against sexual violence
I promise to shout against it rather than staying silent.
I promise to learn difference between
Good and bad
Right and wrong
Friend and foe.

If every girl decides to become her own saviour and rather an extended arm for other girls and women, probably it will be a strong message for the society and nation. Actually a family, society and nation, all are part of the same ecosystem. Whether you take a top-down-approach or a bottom-up-approach, unless there is a proper synchronization among every component of the ecosystem, it is difficult to save this burning torch against the high winds.

There has to be a wide spectrum of education and knowledge to be imparted. This has to go with a signal to equip every girl and woman with a fair amount of confidence to raise her alarm against any kind of wrongdoing against her. She has to retain her confidence and understanding to fight against sexual violence. It is important to #KnowYourRights to build a safer world.

A clear cut message is important to come from the society for safeguarding girls and women. A timely support and a regular message is to be spread to keep it clean and safe. The punishing act has to be severe the in case of sexual violence. A parallel level of education is to be built for everyone to make then understand that this is something that will not be accepted at any cost. Unless we make of law stringent towards such heinous crimes, we are bound to let the water flow out in the fields destroying useful crops. A lenient approach is ultimately going to harm us back in a big way, some day or the other.

Very few cases are reported as compared to the actual cases of sexual violence in the country. It is because of many factors. The victim might be lacking trust in law and order.  The society is full of germs and viruses. It is important to sanitize the whole society and nation at the earliest so as to raise the confidence level of every component of the chain.
