Author Interview: T L Parker: Adventure Thrillers: The Devil's Graveyards and Superstitions

T.L. Parker is the author of the adventure thrillers, The Devil's Graveyards and Superstitions. She interweaves truth and fiction to create compelling and riveting plots that keeps readers on the edge of their seats and makes them question the mysteries of the earth.

Along with enjoying her writing passion, she also loves spending time with her husband and four children.

Please share some of the best memories of your childhood.

I grew up in the little town of Paris, Idaho. I have 1 younger sister. My parents were groundkeepers for the beautiful tabernacle in the center of town. I loved spending the summers riding my bike and playing with friends while my parents worked. My dad also sold pianos and organs (He plays without knowing how to read music) and my mom taught piano lessons. Music was a big part of my life growing up. Christmas was always a fun memory as well. My grandparents lived next door, and the family Christmas Eve party was always an exciting tradition.

What is your biggest source of inspiration in life.

My husband is my biggest inspiration and source of encouragement. He was my high school sweetheart, and we are enjoying every adventure life throws our way.

What is your favorite genre and why?

I love adventure – techno thrillers because I love to read and write them. I am a Michael Crichton fan. I loved the way he brought interesting theories and technology into his stories.

When did you start writing? What is the purpose of your writing?

I officially started writing in 2008. Of course, I always loved writing and even attended a young author’s convention in the 2nd grade.

Which of your work has been published so far? Would you like to share a synopsis of your work?

The Devil’s Graveyards and Superstitions are available at Amazon’s Kindle Store.

The Devil’s Graveyards: A handful of people from across the globe and spanning four centuries, their lives bound together by fate, are guided toward the one thing they all have in common…the island. Concealing ancient mysteries, the island is an eternal curse for some. For others, it is a new beginning. In a world where greed is a constant threat, the love of a beautiful woman must link them together in an adventure that defies the logics of time.

Superstitions: In the heart of Arizona, secrets run deep within the Superstition Mountains, unearthing answers to man’s greatest mysteries.
When Gabriel embarks on a journey to find his missing brother in the rugged mountains, he researches the endless deaths and disappearances of other treasure hunters. Drawn into a dangerous mystery from which he cannot escape, he soon fears for his own life in a perilous search for answers.

Evadon survives an attack on her city. In a world where hate and vengeance have destroyed everything she has ever known, she alone is responsible for the fate of humanity.

Their lives are intertwined on a journey toward the truth. Beyond the serrated peaks of the Superstitions, Gabriel will discover secrets running deep within the threads of society. The profound truth will link the past and future as it chisels its way into the core of humanity.

What are your forthcoming writings?

I will release my third book in 2015. I can’t wait to see what this next year will bring.

What keeps you motivating towards writing?

I love interweaving truth with fiction to create interesting plots with surprising twists and turns.
My new adventure / suspense thriller, Superstitions, was released on Nov. 18th. I am very excited about this book. The research was extremely interesting (and sometimes scary). I had always heard about the Lost Dutchman Mine in the Superstitions, but I hadn’t realized how many people have died or gone missing when they venture into these mountains.
The true events which have inspired this novel are shocking. Readers will be drawn deep into the Superstition Mountains to unravel some of mankind’s biggest mysteries. I hope readers will question (as I have done) some of the mysteries about the past and future of mankind. During my extensive research, it became very obvious that the scientific community has hidden many discoveries from the public. Readers will learn why. (And I hope they will be wary about looking for the Lost Dutchman Mine!)

If Writing a Book is taken as a project, What are the key essentials you take care of in Project Management?

Make a goal. Figure out how much you need to write every day to reach your goal. Then relax, listen to a good soundtrack, and enjoy writing.

How much real life goes into a fiction writing?

More than you’d think. Imagination only goes so far. Many times, real life experiences often find their way into a story because it’s easier to write about things you are familiar with.

Your origin of birth and other countries you have visited/ stayed. What best things you liked in these countries around the globe?

During the research for my first novel, The Devil’s Graveyards, I had the opportunity to travel to many of the settings in the book including the beautiful island of  Grenada, the unique city of Montreal, and Europe. For Superstitions, I visited the Superstition Mountains first hand in Arizona.

Your favorite color?

Turquoise.

Your favorite movie?

Joe Versus the Volcano.
