5 Ancient Principles Of Leadership by Jack Myrick is a small and crisp 91 pages fable of a ship builder that enlightens with 5 fundamental rules to be followed to achieve success in life for any person engaged in any kind of business. It gives you an insight of the rules followed by successful persons for achieving their goals in life. The book is a real collection of 5 precious gems of life.

The story revolves around Marcus, a small time shipbuilder struggling with his business of building ships. He lives with his beautiful and helpful wife Arayliss and their 3 daughters. Macrus lives near Mediterranean sea in Athens having a task of building a ship for his running contract with a person called Mathis. Julius is one of the most trusted craftsmen of Marcus who is very loyal and helpful, but he feels helpless when he see Marcus always struggling to meet his timelines of delivering ships to the contractor due to various reasons - manpower shortage, engagement of his people to work, having no system in place and so on.

Marcus is very sad one night when he see no light at the end of he tunnel for delivering his current order of building a ship to Mathis. Barnabas, on the other hand, is a master shipbuilder in the same vicinity with a huge empire of his own and having big time contracts in hand. Barnabas is always able to retain his people, delivery his orders in time, keep his men happy and minting money like anything by getting success in all his ventures.

Arayliss suggests Marcus one night over dinner, when she finds Marcus totally in a frustrated mood for not able to manage his business, to meet Barnabas and learn how he manages his business so well. Marcus fearful of his failures and the heights achieved by Barnabas is sure that he will not get entertained by Barnabas being his competitor in the trade. But when Arayliss suggests Marcus that there is no comparison between Marcus, a small timer shipbuilder, and the most successful ship trader of Athens, Barnabas; and hence there is no harm if Marcus tries to meet Barnabas and tries to understand the crux of business to achieve success in his current project and get out of regular mode of failure.

This one event of a meeting of Marcus with Barnabas brings wonders in the life of Marcus and changes his life forever. He gets to know the basic principles of life on how to manage any kind of projects in life from Barnabas and thereby achieving success in meeting his timelines for not only the current shipbuilding contract for all to come in his life after that moment. The 5 mantras given to Marcus by Barnabas are real gems to learn for any person to achieve success in life.

Author Interview: Jane Tesh: Definitely A Capricorn, A Late Bloomer

Top post on IndiBlogger.in, the community of Indian Bloggers
She was born on 1st of January in Thomasville, NC. During her childhood, she got the privilege of having the taste of both – city and farm life. She was recognized as a good writer during her school days by her teachers and parents when she wrote her first couple of poems and thus started the journey of her writing for school magazines and newspapers. She graduated in English as a major subject from Lenoir-Rhyne College in Hickory, NC. She did her Masters in Education from the University of North Carolina. Immediately after completing her Masters degree she got an offer for Jones Elementary School as a full-time Librarian.

During her 30 long years of the job at Jones Elementary School, Jane Tesh enjoyed two things very much – one, reading to children and two, the long teachers’ meetings providing her the opportunity to finish her chapters for her latest books. Jane is also fond of playing piano at the Andy Griffith Playhouse besides teaching aerobics and kickboxing. Her favorite pastime is with her one-eyed Chihuahua named Winkie.

Hello, Jane, a very warm and respectful welcome to you on my blog on behalf of your large count of readers and fans. Let us have a little interaction to get to know your ideas on certain aspects related to your work and life.

Your real name and pen name?

I write under my real name, Jane Tesh

Please share some of the best memories of your childhood

Every summer, a small carnival set up right across the street from my grandmother’s house in Thomasville, NC.  My sister and I could walk over and ride the little Ferris wheel and roller coaster which were just the right size for children.  There was also a beautiful merry-go-round with all different kinds of horses.  We had names for all of them.  After riding, we would sit on the porch and drink Cokes, and listen to the music and the excited screams from the older kids riding the bigger rides.  One ride was called “The Bullet,” and I remember it was outlined in little white lights that looked like pearls.  We never got up enough courage to ride it, though.

Also in Thomasville, there was a little train that went around the big public swimming pool.  We could walk to the pool, swim for a while, and then ride the train.  No one worried about children walking by themselves in those days.
Thomasville, home of Thomasville Furniture, is known as The City of the Big Chair because there is an enormous chair downtown.  After the Christmas parade, Santa would climb up a ladder and sit in the big chair and wave to everyone.

About your education

I have a BA in English and a Masters in Education with a concentration in Library Science

What career did you plan during your education days

I didn’t plan on a career because I didn’t know what I wanted to be.  I enjoyed English literature, so I decided to be an English major.
I finally realized I never knew what I was going to be because I already was what I wanted to be: a writer.
I sort of fell into library science by default, and my library job at an elementary school paid the bills while I tried to get published.

What is your biggest source of inspiration in life

Music, specifically upbeat, cheerful music like ragtime and traditional jazz.  I also like marches.  Somehow I can always hear a story in the music.

What hurts you most in this world

The death of my father

What is the biggest challenge you have faced? Were you able to overcome it? How?

My biggest challenge was getting published.  I sent manuscripts out for thirty years.  Every now and then, I thought I’d found a publisher, but the company would go out of business, or decide not to take me on.  I was determined not to give up, and, fortunately, found a publisher and got the contract for my first book two months after I retired.  Good timing!

If you had to live a day of your life as one of the living or dead personality, who would it be and why?

As a child, I often wished to be a ballerina, but I was a tubby little girl whose feet turned in.  I would love for one day to be a prima ballerina in a prestigious ballet company and perform, just to see what that is like.

What is your favorite genre and why?

I love fantasy, simply because there are no limits.

What is the purpose of your writing?

I have always written stories that I would like to read.  If these stories entertain people or help them through grief, then that’s a wonderful extra.

Which of your work published so far?

I’ve had over thirty plays published by Plays Magazine, some poems in collections, two children’s musicals in collaboration with a songwriter, and six mystery novels with Poisoned Pen Press.  These include The Madeline Maclin Mysteries: A Case of Imagination, A Hard Bargain, and A Little Learning, and the Grace Street Series: Stolen Hearts, Mixed Signals, and Now You See It.

What are your forthcoming writings?

Now You See It was just published, and the fourth Madeline Maclin Mystery, A Bad Reputation, will be out in March 2014.

 What are your future plans?

There are ten more books in the Grace Street Series that I would love to see published.

What four top most things you take care of while writing a book?

The first and most important thing for me is to find the right name for each character.  Once a character has been named, he or she really comes to life.
Second is the dialogue.  I love writing dialogue.  Usually, my characters start talking, and I just write down what they say.  It’s a part of the creative process that always amazes me.
Third, I have some sort of plot in mind, although it doesn’t always turn out the way I planned.
The fourth is what my writing instructor called “texture,” the extra description that involves all the senses and adds depth and reality to the work.

Your dream destination on Earth?

Australia.  Saving up for it.

Your origin of birth and other countries you have visited/ stayed.

I was born in Thomasville, NC.  I’ve had the good fortune to visit England, Ireland, Scotland, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Netherlands, China, and Africa.

What best things you liked in these countries around the globe?

My favorite visits have been to countries in Africa, including Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, Morocco, and Egypt.  The best thing is meeting the people and realizing they are living their lives just as we are and the reports we get on the news are so exaggerated.  Also, I loved seeing the animals in their natural habitat, the wildlife in Kenya and Tanzania, the mountain gorillas in Rwanda.  I was at the pyramids on January 1, 2000, and have a photo of me standing between the sphinx’s toes.  The temples and statues were amazing, and riding a camel through the Sahara is one of the high points of my life.

Your favorite time of the day?

I enjoy getting up in the mornings in time to see the sunrise.

Your zodiac/ sun sign?

I am definitely Capricorn.  A late bloomer!

Your favorite color and why?

I like green because it is a very peaceful color and the color of new beginnings.

Your favorite book and why?

I have many favorite books, but one I can read over and over is Going Postal, one of the many Discworld novels by fantasy author Terry Pratchett.  Pratchett has an amazing talent for combining humor, satire, drama, and pathos, something I strive for in my own work.  In Going Postal, a young con man’s life will be spared if he can restore the obsolete and destitute post office.

Your favorite celebrity and why?

I don’t really have a favorite celebrity, but I could look at Bradley Cooper all day.

Your favorite food?

Pizza.

Author Interview: Yadhira Gonzalez-Taylor: Beauty Fades and Dumb is Forever

Top post on IndiBlogger.in, the community of Indian Bloggers
Her favorite genres are Children Books and Memoir. She is a public attorney serving in New York City starting her career after attaining her law degree from prestigious New York Law School and Masters Degrees from John Jay College of Justice, City University of New York. Her debutant book is released in 2013 titled … (oops you will get to know below in her own word! J), a children’s book about an interesting Caribbean folktale. The giveaway of which is running at Goodreads until Nov 29th. She has been greatly influenced by Maya Angelou and Isabelle Allende.

The trailer of this beautiful book from Yadhira Gonzalez-Taylor can be found here. Welcome Yadhira on my blog and thanks for giving your valuable time for this interaction with a motive to know you a little more.
Your real name and pen name?

My name is Yadhira Gonzalez-Taylor. I have also adopted the pen name: E.G. Friday, under which I write a blog about several topics, including child abuse, domestic abuse and other lighter topics like living in the big city and humorous things I observe in my walk through life. The blog can be found at www.eggshellgalfriday.blogspot.com.

Please share some of the best memories of your childhood

I lived between NYC and Puerto Rico for long stretches of time during my childhood. In Puerto Rico, I lived with my maternal grandparents in a mountainous location in the island.  I was part of a very small community. The population of my immediate area was around 700 people most people knew each other. My grandparents and I sold AVON products door to door. Some of my best memories are of helping my grandmother run her business and playing and running around with my friends in the river, and climbing the steep hills to get to hidden pockets where we could swim in the river and enjoy hidden waterfalls.

About your education

I have a law degree from New York Law School and a Bachelors (magna cum laude) and Masters in Criminal Justice from John Jay College of Criminal Justice from the City Univ. of NY. The BS and MA are in Criminal Justice with a focus on deviance and social control.

What career did you plan during your education days?

I started out wanting to be a police officer for the city of NY. When that didn’t work out I continued studying, went to law school, and became a prosecutor in Bronx County.

What is your biggest source of inspiration in life?

As far as writing, my memories. Both good and bad. I write about bad and good memories in my journey for self-healing and self-discovery.

What hurts you most in this world

The abuse and oppression that is perpetrated against women and children throughout the world.

What is the biggest challenge you have faced? Were you able to overcome it? How?

I am a child abuse survivor.  When I lived in NYC I was abused and witnessed violent domestic violence between my parents.  I also lived in a very dilapidated and blighted neighborhood that was drug infested.  I watched how prostitutes serviced men and how drug dealers sold drugs to all kinds of people.  My education and hard work helped me to change my living environment.

The trauma of Child abuse is something that is very difficult to overcome. I still struggle but I am a survivor not a victim. I try to stay positive but sometimes it is difficult so I channel it into my writing or by helping other people. It helps to express your feelings instead of bottling them up.

If you had to live a day of your life as one of the living or dead personality, who would it be and why?

If I could live the life of a “dead” person it would be Anacaona, an Arawak Taina Chief in the island of Haiti. She was a celebrated Chief but also a composer of songs and poems.  She is one of the first people to have met and fought against the newly arrived Spaniards.

Haiti is the original Arawak name of the island also known as Hispaniola as renamed by the Spaniards. Today it is known as the island shared by two countries, Haiti and Dominican Republic.

Anacaona was a fierce leader who fought for her people. She was murdered by the Spaniards. I would like to live a day in her life as a Taina Casica (Chief), and experience the dynamics of native families, villages, and day to day politics through her eyes.

What is your favorite genre and why?

Literary fiction, particularly ones with settings in the long distant past or ones that have accurate historical facts in them. I like to combine reading for pleasure with actual learning.

What is the purpose of your writing?

Mostly for the sake healing from past traumas.

Which of your work published so far?

I just independently published Martina Finds a Shiny Coin © 2013, available through Amazon.com in soft cover and e-book. It is an illustrated children’s book. It is about a little cockroach that plays the cello. She finds a coin one day and goes on a shopping trip which just sets her off on a much more important journey.

What are your forthcoming writings?

I am currently working on more adventures for Martina and I am trying to also work on finishing my memoir.

What are your future plans?

To keep writing and inspire others to do the same.

Your dream destination on Earth?

Puerto Rico, my home. I miss it every day, especially during hard winters in New York.

Your origin of birth and other countries you have visited/ stayed. What best things you liked in these countries around the globe?

I was born in New York City to parents who migrated from Puerto Rico in the 70s. I have travelled to Puerto Rico, Santo Domingo, London and Panama.

Your favorite celebrity and why?

Tom Hanks for his comedic style and I love his acting. I loved him in Forrest Gump which is an awesome movie.

Some quickies: Sun or Moon, Laughter or Smile, Morning or Evening, Coffee or Tea, Mountain or Sea, Long Drive or Short Drive, Silence or Conversation

Sun, Smile, Evening, Coffee, Tea, Mountain, Long Drive, Silence.

Best quote—Beauty Fades and Dumb is Forever by an American who everyone knows as Judge Judy.  She wrote a book with this title to empower women during divorce and other issues. Basically to me this quote means that we can be very beautiful but one day we will age and wrinkled and if we are not intellectually prepared there is not much we can offer ourselves or the world.

Dance India Dance Season 4 (DID4) With Indiblogger: Countdown Started

Delhi is overjoyed for two reasons - one is a national reason shared with all other states - that Dance India Dance Season 4 - Mera Happy Wala Dance - is starting on 26th October on Zee TV. It will be telecast every Saturday and Sunday 9PM onwards. Second reason is the Indiblogger - Dance India Dance meet - a unique event (in many aspects) for Delhi Indibloggers - is scheduled for 23rd October in The Oberoi. Title sponsor for Dance India Dance Season 4 is Maruti Suzuki, and associate sponsors are Ramdev and WeChat.

What a wonderful event where every participant
including sponsors and the main guests will have only one motto - Dance It Out! The participants will have a golden opportunity to interact (and dance, of course) with the new trio Shruti Merchant, Mudassar Khan and Feroz Khan. The legendary trio of Geeta Kapoor, Remo D'Souza and Terence Lewis will remain tightly associated with the Season 4. Let us start with one of the Promo video of Dance India Dance Season 4 (DID4):

Another Promo with Master Mudassar:

The one with Master Feroz:

And last but not the least - Promo with Master Shruti:

Now a brief about the new Masters:

Master Shruti Merchant: Don't get confused when at first look her face appears same as Vaibhavi Merchant, her elder sister. The younger sis started her career with Vaibhavi by assisting her in choreography in Kal Ho Na Ho, Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi and so on... After proving her mettle she started as an independent choreographer and grabbed The Best Choreographer Award for her song Thug Le filmed for movie Ladies vs Ricky Behl. Shruti is expert in classical form or Indian dances - Kathak and Bharatnatyam.

Master Feroz Khan: Starting his career in 1996 under legendary Farha Khan, Feroz Khan has given some brilliant pieces of work like Move Your Body in Johny Gaddar, and Maa Da Ladla in Dostana. And then there was no stopping for him. He has choreographed for movies Anjaana Anjaani, Angeepath, Ra.One, Fukrey and so on...

Master Mudassar Khan: He fame is already on top because of his own Hip Hop Troupe known as Sharp Shooterz. He is also running his quite popular for Hip Hop Dance Centre that is running successfully. He earmarked him imprints in movies like DAbbang 2, Bodyguard, Ready. At 26, he is youngest of the trio but is full of fire.

Author Interview: Sonya Solomonovich: A Russian Beauty Who Has Fallen In Love With Vancouver

Top post on IndiBlogger.in, the community of Indian Bloggers
Sonya Solomonovich looks more like a film star because of her vibrant beauty and sharp features. She is a freelance writer and aspiring novelist. But before putting up these hats, she has much more to showcase. She has been a teacher, an editor, and a journalist. In between these two journey streams, she thought of acquiring another hat which didn't sort out. She thought of becoming a fitness instructor (being super fit herself) but then it came out to her that there is something beyond that is waiting for her. Writing is her passion along with her another favorite pastime – seafaring. If you don’t find her writing or seafaring; the next best place to find her is a martial arts studio or a local spa (or a place that is a mix of both).

Sonya loves interacting with people as passionately as writing novels. Welcome, Sonya on board and thanks for giving an opportunity to interact with you. Let us start a brief interaction to know you in your own words!

Your real name and pen name?

When I was younger, I used "Sonya Solo" for my journalistic writing because I thought my real name was too unwieldy. But I've come to be proud of my real name, so now I sign all my books as Sonya Solomonovich.

If you had to live a day of your life as one of the living or dead personality, who would it be and why?

I wouldn't mind living a day as Jacques Cousteau because I love observing marine animals, especially dolphins, in the wild.

What is your favorite genre and why?

I have to say comedy. Though I usually describe myself as liking to read and write historical or swashbuckling adventure, I usually gravitate to the light-hearted stuff rather than the dark or "edgy." I will read anything that's funny.

What is the purpose of your writing?

Good question! In my writing, my main purpose is to present a positive and hopeful view of the world. This doesn’t mean that my novels are purely escapist. I hope my novels will entertain but also inspire the reader to be the hero rather than the victim in real life. This is what reading adventure stories has always done for me.

Which of your work published so far?

I've just published my first novel, Dryad. The main character is Solena, a dryad (a supernatural forest creature) who goes undercover in a human corporation in order to protect the forest. She discovers that the corporation is planning to travel back in time and cut down the forest in order to circumvent environmental laws.

It's a time travel story, so there's some satire of modern society as well as swashbuckling adventures in the 17th century with pirates, Jesuit priests, and supernatural beings. In this book, I wanted to create a bevy of supporting characters who are each very interesting and touching in their own way.

It’s also a romance story as the dryad tries to figure out whether she loves the smooth-talking Rodney Love, heir to the Timber Corporation, or her long-time friend Anastacio, a wild dryad of the rainforest.

My other book, published last year, is Very Much Alive. It's a romance novella that takes place in Los Angeles. The story is about a wealthy older man who collects antiques and wants to find a cultured woman who will appreciate his collection, but instead, he falls in love with an exotic dancer. I don’t usually write purely romance books, but this one demanded to be written, especially after my visit to Los Angeles, where I saw the amazing Getty Museum and its art collection. I could picture my characters interacting there, and in other locations around LA.

What are your future plans?
I can't imagine a future without writing, so I know another novel is on the horizon. I would also like to learn more about documentary filmmaking. I always want to tell stories, in one way or another.

Your origin of birth and other countries you have visited/ stayed. What best things you liked in these countries around the globe?
I was born in Russia and have been living in Canada for most of my life though I also studied in Europe for a couple of years. I especially enjoyed Italy and Ireland. I studied for a year in Dublin, Ireland, where I got my MA degree. What I liked about Ireland is it has a long-standing literary tradition and rich history. What I liked about Italy is that you don’t have to go very far in search of adventure… or trouble! It felt a bit dangerous but exciting. Currently, I’m living in Vancouver, Canada, my favorite city in the world. It’s on the Pacific Ocean, so I can go on frequent surfing adventures.

Your favorite book and why?
Good Omens by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman is one of my top favorites. It’s an epic story about Armageddon, but it’s told in a very humorous way so it’s also epically silly. I just love the huge scope of its ideas and how funny it is in satirizing modern society.

It’s about an angel and a demon who are trying to stop Armageddon from happening. They have come to realize that if either God or Satan achieves complete victory, life will just be too boring.

I Am A Common Man Of Delhi And I Have All Rights To Define My Delhi Manifesto

Top post on IndiBlogger.in, the community of Indian Bloggers
I am a common man of Delhi. As a common man I have witnessed the era before English invaded India and ruled over this country for years. After Britishers were thrown out of this country I witnessed post Independence era. For all these years I am taking birth in a common man's house, growing up as a common man and dying as a common man. This is a cyclic process.

When I try to differentiate between pre-Independence and post-Independence eras, I get into a deep depression as I practically see no difference between the two. Earlier we were enslaved by British and afterwards by our own weaknesses and shortfalls. The rate at which the United States grew in their first 50 years post Independence is 25 times as compared to the rate as which we grew. We could have retrieved our original condition of one of the strongest nations of the world but we just ended up in top list of cities with a tag of 'Corrupt', 'Unsafe to live in', 'Poor', 'Weak economy', 'Least growth' and so on. Nobody else is to be blamed for this except we, ourselves - each one of us.

After 67 years of long sleep, I decided to write my Delhi Manifesto which goes as below:

1. No minister will allocate time of 1 hour per day for people to come to his/her office to get their concerns addressed. Instead the minister will be required to visit his constituency on a regular basis and meet people. He should behave as an employee of common men of Delhi rather than behaving as a big shot. After all whatever they get in life is not because of their talent, it is only because of the common men providing them this privilege.

2. Each day spending of routine of a minister be published and made public.

3. Any case against an influential person/ minister/ or a higher administrator shall be straightaway in the highest court instead of starting from the lowest of the courts and thereby taking years to settle. A wrongdoing by a minister should be treated as a breach of trust of common men and shall be punished severely. A decision going in their favor should be scrutinized by an independent agency.

4. No peeing or spitting on the roadside by anyone. There should be paid utility places every 3 kilometers throughout the city. If someone is not able to pay, he should assist in cleaning and upkeep of the place.

5. Any crime against children, women and old citizens should be severely punishable.

6. No serious crime should debar underage for a benefit. If a child can do a serious crime, he should be given severest of the punishment by all means.

7. No single driving of a four wheeler. People offering their vehicles for pooling should get additional benefits for making city greener.

8. Tobacco and Cigarette shops should be totally banned in the city. Let us try making it totally tobacco free.

9. No parking charges from public. Let it be sponsored by malls and big businesses.

10. Hindi to be official language in all the places.

This is My Delhi Manifesto in association with BlogAdda.com.
