Today's Hero was none among Gayle, Charles or Pollard but Dwayne Sammy and Samuels. West Indies won the toss and decided to bat first. Till 14 overs they were nowhere in terms of score on the board, with an average of only 6 runs per over and three of their top players back in the pavilion. And then it was Samuels who started cracking sixes all across the ground. He made 78 in 56 balls with 3 fours and 5 sixes. West Indies has emerged as the maximum six hitter team in this tournament with 49 sixes in their record. Second was Australia with a big gap, at 32 sixes in the tournament.
Finally West Indies made 137 with an average of 6.85 which at one moment of time was going at 5 runs an over. Sri Lanka lost their opener in second over itself when T Dilshan was out for duck, somewhat in the same manner as West Indies had lost Charles in the first over itself.
With 68 for 6 in 14 overs, the script is clear on the wall as West Indies emerging as WT2012 Champions.
