Champions League Twenty20: Delhi Daredevils Score Picks Up Later Against Kolkata Knight Riders

87 for the loss of 3 in 13 overs is not too convincing to put tight ropes across Kolkata Knight Riders when Delhi Daredevils is put to bat first after Gambhir won the toss and told Jayawardene to bat first. Unmukt Chand was dropped by Tiwary on the last ball of 14th over at his score of 17 made in 16  balls with 2 fours. Ross Taylor on the other hand was trying to speed up the scoring rate. 100 on board for Delhi Daredevils came in 15th over of the game quite handsomely when Chand pulled a ball by Kallis for a huge six.

DD were 103 for 3 after 15 overs. In 16 overs Delhi Daredevils were at 114 for the loss of 3 wickets. Taylor hit his second six of the game and overall fourth on the ball of Balaji that was thrown short pitch. The next one was sent for a four. And was caught out on boundary on the very next ball. DD was 127 for 4 with Taylor departed at 36 in 23 balls with 1 four and 2 sixes. Average was picking up to 7.77 runs per over. But that did not stop Chand to hit on the very next ball for a six and then for a four on the very next to that.

Delhi Daredevils reached at 137 for 4 at the end of 17 overs at an average of 8.13 runs per over. With 3 overs left, there are chances of DD reaching to 170-180. Irfan Pathan was next to join Chand on the field after Taylor got out. Narine clean bowled Unmukt Chand on the fourth ball of his last over and innings' 18th over. Chand made 40 on 27 balls with 4 fours and 2 sixes. Daredevils were 145 for 5. In the same over Naman Ojha gave a practice catch to Yusuf Pathan on boundary. the score at the end of 18 overs was 145 with 6 wickets gone.

2 overs were left for Daredevils. Kallis was given the penultimate over to bowl. Now the chances were less for Delhi crossing 160 mark. Pawan Negi went almost the same way as Ojha getting caught on the boundary. Score stopped moving and was 147 at 7. At the 2nd of 19 overs DD were 147. Average had dropped down to 7.66 from 8.23.

Last over was given to Balaji. Pathan sent second ball of the over across boundary for four. Score crossed 150 mark. With last two balls to spare it was 154. Penultimate ball was sent for a six by Agarkar. And score reached the 160 mark. And last ball was a catch, Agarkar getting out at 8 in 3 balls with 1 six.

Finally Kolkata Knight Riders have been challenged to make 161 to win with an average of 8 runs per over.
