Manwinder Bisla and Captain Gautam Gambhir opened the bat for Kolkata Knight Riders accepting the challenge put by Delhi Daredevils of 161 to win the game. Gambhir was back on duck in the very first over facing Irfan Pathan. KKR were 1 for the loss of one wicket before the end of first over.Brandon McCullum joined the crease with Bisla. Bisla too went back on the last ball getting lbw out. So first over was not too good for Delhi Daredevils with 3 runs and 2 wicket gone.
Second over, first ball was again a disaster for KKR when McCullum gave a diving catch to Chand on the bowling of Morne Morkel. 4 runs for the loss of 3 top batsmen. Jacques Kallis and Manoj Tiwary, both new batsmen, joined on the pitch to carry KKR score forward towards 160. Yusuf Pathan joined in to share crease with Tiwary. Third over brought in just 2 singles and a four. And the score was 7 for the loss of 3 wickets. Yusuf Pathan has caliber of lifting up scoring average from low to substantially high. Yet to be seen that magical batting from him in this innings. At the end of 4 overs KKR were just 23 with 3 wickets down. Last ball of the fifth over and the story was clear in favor of Delhi Daredevils with Pathan getting clean bowled on the ball of Umesh Yadav. KKR with 24 for loss of 4 in 5 overs and 137 runs required with an average of over 9 runs were almost out of this game.
