WT20 Super Eights: South Africa v Australia: Australia Won Convincingly

David Warner clean bowled on the first ball of 4th over of the game thrown by Mornie Morkel. He made just 5 runs in 9 balls. It was a fast straight ball and Warner was trying to go for a big lofty shot. Australia chasing a target of 147 to win against South Africa are not in a comfort zone with 10 runs in 3.3 over with a wicket gone.South African bowlers were able to put Australia under pressure and not let them go for big shots.

The scoring rate started rising up as soon as Shane Watson got settled and then he started playing powerful and intelligent shots to cross boundary line. Gradually at the end of 6 overs Australia was 38 for the loss of 1 wicket. Watson at that time was playing at 27 in 23 balls with 4 fours. First 50 for Australia came in 8th over. In 10 overs Australia were in quite comfortable situation with 76 for 1. Required run rate went down to 7.1 runs per over.

81 for 1 in 11 overs. 66 runs required in 54 balls. Not a trouble for Australia as of now. Finally Watson got out in 14th over at his individual score of 70 made in 47 balls with 8 fours and 2 sixes. Innings total was 109 at that time and less than 5 per over was the required run rate that was easily attained by Hussey and White both remained not out at 45 and 21 respectively in 37 and 13 balls.

Australia won by 8 wickets.
