SL vs NZ: Super Eights: Finally It Is A Tie Between Sri Lanka and New Zealand.

L:::After 17.2 overs NZ were slightly ahead of Sri Lanka. Target is 175 runs to win. It is now 149 runs for the loss of 3 wickets. Good thing is that Tilakratne Dilshan is still on the crease. 24 runs required now in 15 balls. Dilshan is 68 not out, standing tall on the crease. 68 runs have come in 50 balls for Dilshan. Angelo Mathews on the other hand is on 9 in 8 balls.

By the end of 18th over Sri Lanka are 154 for the loss of 3 wickets. Last 2 overs and 21 runs required. A huge six on the first ball of 18th over by Dilshan, is good enough to drop down the little pressure that had built in. SL 160 for 3 requiring 15 runs in 11 balls. On the very next ball there was a big shout for his run out, and he is gone 76 made in 53 balls with 5 fours and 3 sixes.

13 runs and 9 balls is the equation for SL to win this match. One run each on 3rd and 4th ball taken. A four with one bounce out of boundary behind the fielder, further pulled down the pressure out of SL. Thisara Perrera is doing the right thing but he is gone on the very next ball. Last ball of 19th over and Sri Lanka are 167 for 5.

Franklin has taken 2 wickets in his last and innings' second last over. Last over, 8 runs to win. Mathews on 10 in 9 balls and the new batsman is Lahiri Thirimanne. Tim Southee is the bowler. First ball and one run. It is 7 runs from last 5 balls to win.

Second ball from Southee, new man Thirimanne to bat, a run taken. 6 runs and 4 balls. Third ball and one more run. It is 5 runs and 3 balls. Southee is doing a great piece of bowling, 1 run each on first 3 balls. Fourth ball and no run.

It is 5 runs and 2 balls.  Four runs with a back pull by Thirimanne. Sri Lanka are 174. Now 1 ball and 1 run to win.

All players around the batsman. Scores are at level. Match is at the verge of excitement. Third empire's call. It is an appeal for a run out. And the match is tied.

Superb piece of bowling by Southee. Excellent piece of fielding by NZ fielders.
