It was the first match of World Cup 2011 played at Dhaka. It was first match of Group B between Bangladesh and India. It might have been a wrong decision of Bangladesh captain to choose bowling even after winning the toss. Probably that toss became the cause of loss for Bangladesh. India opened bat with Virender Sehwag and Sachin Tendulkar. Sehwag might not be one of the favourites in Bangladesh as he had criticised their batting last year. Tendulkar made another couple of records in this match. First, he has become world’s top player in the list of players who have played most number of one day internationals. Second, he has become the top player in the list of players who have played maximum number of world cups.
