Data was collected by Thomson Reuters during 2010 for more than 12 million of United States employees and dependants in their family related to their healthcare claims for inpatient and outpatient spending. Healthcare costs for United States employees have risen by more than 6 percent in 12 months ending September 2010. Main reason for this is largely attributed to climb in outpatient cost of hospitals. The results have been based on studies conducted by Thomson Reuters to draw out the Healthcare Spending Index in the private insurance area.
