Welcome Mark onboard!

Your real name and pen name?

Mark King (I don’t use a pen name)

Please share some of the best memories of your childhood?

Run free with my friends on during the long hot summer school holidays

About your education

I was educated through the University of Life.

What career did you plan during your education days?

None at all, I had no plan other than to live life to the fullest.

What languages you can speak and write?

When I was still a small child I spoke Spanish as well as English as we lived in Spain in the seventies, but now I can only speak English.

What is your biggest source of inspiration in life?

Life itself; because all creative people use their vivid imagination to pick up what their senses hear, see, smell, feel, taste etc.

What hurts you most in this world?

Hate towards our fellow human-beings.

What is the biggest challenge you have faced? How did you overcome it?

Every day is a challenge in which we have to overcome in the best way we can. This is how we learn, and if we’re cleaver enough we will find the answers so we don’t make the same mistakes again.

If you had to live a day of your life as one of the living or dead personality, who would it be and why?

This question has left me stumped because to be truthful there is nobody else I would want to be other than Mark King.

What is your favourite genre and why?

I enjoy most genres although I do have quite a few non-fiction history books.

When did you start writing? What is the purpose of your writing?

I’ve started as a full time writer just over Three years ago, before that I was just writing for fun and only took it seriously after the death of my father-in-law, as it taught me you never know when your time is up so you must do what you what to do now!

Which of your work has been published so far? Would you like to share a synopsis of your work?

FRENZY a Daniel Jones Story.

Daniel leads a peaceful life with his family until he finds out a repulsive secret about the Over-seers, the ‘saviours of humanity’, and his security is blown to smithereens. He enters a world where death is the only certainty and quickly learns to kill – or be killed.
Enter Gwendolyn, with the charm of a snake and a bite that’s twice as dangerous. People skills aren’t her thing but she knows how to survive in a post-apocalyptic world; she’s a hotshot with a bow and arrow and can rustle up a mean rat soup.

Mary is the only person left alive over forty. She’s not too good at fighting but she knows where to find the one thing that could save their lives; the golden shield. Only Mary can remember life before the alien invasion, before humanity was brainwashed into following the procedures.

What are your forthcoming writings?

I’ve just finished the draft to Daniel Jones DOOM the sequel.

What are your future plans?

To keep on writing until I die

What four top most things do you take care of while writing a book?

1) The flow of the story.
2) The description of the characters.
3) To keep the story line exciting.
4) The grammar.

How much real life goes into fiction writing?

Most of it.

Is a high level of imagination important to have for an Author?

Yes it is very important, without you will never dream the dream that can come to life as a story.

Your dream destination on Earth?

My local pub the Fat Cat and Canary on Yarmouth Road in Norwich followed by a visit to Carrow Road the home ground of Norwich City Football Club

Your origin of birth and other countries you have visited/ stayed. What best things you liked in these countries around the globe?

I was born in town called Lowestoft in the U.K but have lived or travelled to over twenty different countries around the world, from most of Western Europe, to the U.S through to Africa, the Middle East and the Far East. I just love soaking up what others have to offer.

Your favourite time of the day?

Midday when I can have some lunch and then a siesta.

Your zodiac/ sunsign?

Scorpio

Your favourite colour and why?

Green and yellow because they are the colours of my football team Norwich City.

What is the last book you finished reading? What is the current book you are reading?

I don’t normally read other books when I’m writing on a new manuscript because I don’t want that author’s style to cross-over into how I’m writing. The last book I read was an auto-biography.

Your favourite book and why?

The Secret by Rhonda Byrne. It spoke to me.

Your favourite movie and why?

Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels. Again it just speaks to me on so many levels.

Your favourite celebrity and why?

Too many to pick just one.

Pizza
