TEDxGateway 2012: Mittal Patel: God For Nomadic And De-notified Tribes In Gujarat

Nomadic and de-notified tribes in Gujarat might not be aware what is the capital of India?, who is the president? Which party is ruling in which state and so on but one name that they would be aware of and have a God-like respect for that figure is Mittal Patel. She is no God and nobody guided her to look around and chose the most challenging tasks of her life. She has been a student of Journalism. She is not part of an organization that is working all towards these communities who have no identity, no home, no profession.

What Mittal Patel has done for this community by fighting for them, getting an identity for them, paying them back in the society what they deserve, is really marvellous and an eye opener for others. She has worked for upliftment of the nomadic tribes of Gujarat - getting them voert ID cards, getting their girls engaged and married, forcing their girls to leave prostitution, opening schools for their kids, getting them food ensuring at least 2 meals a day.

Mittal Patel spoke in TEDxGateway 2012 held in Mumbai and made people aware of what wonderful work she has been doing for years.
