Author Interview: J Kahele: Pink Is A Light Happy Color

As a mother of 3 girls her life is always hectic! But she always has a few minutes to curl up to a relaxing book. I love self-published authors they seem to write with an indescribable passion.

What career did you plan during your education days 

When I was in elementary I thought a call girl was a secretary so I always wanted to be that.

What languages you can speak and write? 

English

What is your biggest source of inspiration in life 

My children

What hurts you most in this world 

People who are harmed by the ones they love

What is the biggest challenge you have faced? How did you overcome it? 

Raising three girls. Just took it day by day and it seemed to work out okay.

If you had to live a day of your life as one of the living or dead personality, who would it be and why? 

Buddha, because he always seemed so peaceful.

What is your favorite genre and why? 

I don’t have a favorite genre, I like everything as long as it is written well

When did you start writing? 

When I was very young

What is the purpose of your writing? 

To release the thoughts in my mind.

Which of your work has been published so far? 

I have two books, 1st - Blink The Series: Breaking Branches. Brief summary:Christia Cartwright's outlook on life is Carpe Diem. Employing alcohol as her weapon of choice, she battles against visions of the nightmare that visits her every night when she closes her eyes. She trails life in a blur. When Michael Wellington enters her life she begins to discover some sense of normalcy. A man with strong convictions and morals soon turns her life topsy-turvy.
 
A conflicted friendship soon buds into a loving romance as his deep feelings and want to cure Christia of her ghosts overwhelms his existence and the desire and need to be with her. 

But, Michael too has ghosts that follow behind him and soon Christia finds herself entangled in a web of good versus evil.

2nd – MINE:  Brief summary: A simple trip to the attorneys turns into a life changing moment for 22 year old Jenna Kramer, when she encounters Andrew Carington for the first time. 

Their desire for each other is so deep that an affair ensues quickly. But Jenna's abusive and controlling husband Senator Benjamin Kramer will never give her up and soon Jenna finds herself plummeting into dangerous grounds.

What are your forthcoming writings? 

I am currently writing a sequel for MINE.

What are your future plans? 

To write until I can’t anymore.

What four top most things you take care of while writing a book? 

1) Vision 2) Character description 3)I work very hard on the dialogue 4) Keeping the story interesting. I often will write a few hundred pages and re-read them and if I lose interest I will delete every single one then rewrite it.

How much real life goes into a fiction writing? 

A lot more than people realize. The characters I use are normally based upon real people.

Is high level of imagination important to have for an Author? 

Sometimes.

Your dream destination on Earth? 

I have no place I want to go that I haven’t been.

Your origin of birth and other countries you have visited/ stayed. What best things you liked in these countries around the globe? 

I was born in Wahiwa, Honolulu in the state of Hawaii. I have never traveled out of the United States.

Your favorite time of the day? 

Evening

Sagittarius

Your favorite color and why? 

Pink, because it is a light happy color.

Your favorite book and why? 

Frankenstein by Mary Shelley. The writing was unbelievable, I have read that book about a hundred times already and still am amazed with her writing ability.

Your favorite celebrity and why? 

I don’t have a favorite celebrity.

Your favorite food? 

Chicken Adobo.
