Myrrh #EssentialOil Benefits #BlogchatterA2z #myrrh

Myrrh is a resin actually and that is why it's quite thick and denser oil. It dissolves quite easily in creams, gels, shampoos, face wash, conditioner, body oils, etc. Though time and again it is told not to use essential oils directly on skin because they are pure, highly concentrated, and significantly potent. But using these essential oils heavily for the last 3-4 years, I do dare to use them directly on skin but quite carefully.

Sometimes, some particular essential oils could cause serious skin issues when used directly. So be careful or be ready to face the repercussions. Secondly, be very, very careful in using any essential oil in pregnancy. Rather, avoid using them or use in a very mild quantity. Better, avoid avoiding any risks. As told above, myrrh is a resin generated by trees widely grown in northern Africa and the Middle East. These trees belong to the genus Commiphora. Myrrh has a very distinct sweet and smoky aroma. This thick, dense oil has enormous benefits. It's a very useful antioxidant. Myrrh is one of the best natural antioxidant that helps neutralize oxidative stress. So, it's very good at fighting against environmental pressures, like pollution.

Myrrh is also found to have anticancer properties very effective against gynecologic cancer cells in human body. As late as in 2017 scientists found that myrrh helps in relieving neuropathic pain. Similarly, in 2015 a research paper published showed myrrh oil is helpful in treating inflammation related to rheumatoid arthritis. People across the world use myrrh oil for various health problems like cough, asthma, ulcers, indigestion, sore throat, haemorrhoids, joint pains, congestion, and different skin issues. The word myrrh derives from the Arabic word "murr" that means bitter. Myrrh has been found to have some adverse effects like worsening fever, causing heart problems, lowering blood pressure, and uterine bleeding. So, you need to be very careful in using essential oils.

    1. Few of these are really very powerful and effective. Mostly positive. But a few have adverse effects too. Especially myrrh. It lowers blood pressure. And impacts heart functioning. Also, erupts/aggravates skin issues if used undiluted.

Essential oils must not be used during pregnancy.
